1. D.O no. 014, s. 2023 POLICY AND GUIDELINNES ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NATIONAL
LEARNING CAMP
The National Learning Camp (NLC) implemented by the Department of Education (DepEd) in the Philippines
is a voluntary three- to five-week learning recovery program designed for K-12 learners. Here are the key
features of its implementation:
Key Features:
1. Program Duration and Voluntariness: The NLC is conducted during the end-of-school-year (EOSY)
break, typically running from July 1 to July 19, 2024. Participation in the NLC is voluntary for both
learners and teachers
Program Structure:
The NLC is a voluntary learning recovery program conducted during the end-of-school-year (EOSY)
break.
It is designed to help K-12 learners in public schools attain learning standards through specialized camps
based on learners' needs: Enhancement Camp, Consolidation Camp, and Intervention Camp
Specific Camps:
Enhancement Camp: For advanced learners, providing greater depth and complexity in learning area
competencies.
Consolidation Camp: Offers further practice and application of previously taught competencies,
connecting concepts and skills across grade levels.
Intervention Camp: Supports learners struggling with foundational skills in Mathematics and English
Learner placement in the camps is based on their academic performance and results from specific
assessments such as the Comprehensive Rapid Literacy Assessment (CRLA) and Rapid Mathematics
Assessment (RMA) for Grades 1 to 3, and the National Learning Camp Assessment (NLCA) for Grades
7 to 10
Teacher Involvement:
Participation of teachers in the NLC is voluntary. Teachers who participate receive vacation service
credits and a Certificate of Recognition.
The selection of teachers is based on their willingness, commitment, and proficiency in their respective
learning areas
Schools may conduct remedial classes for learners in Grades 4, 5, 6, 11, and 12 who did not meet
expectations in one or two learning areas during the school year.
