Event Flow on 24th April 2024- Shining Star International Carnival

A. Story Telling (Pusat Sumber Sekolah)

1. Emcees
-To introduce judges to all participants;
1. Mohd Ikhwan Haiqal bin Ismail, SK Bandar Sri Damansara (3)
2. Anjana A/P Preme Kumar Jude, SK Puchong Utama 2

-Explain the rules of the competition;
1. Time allocated to present the story is 4 minutes. The bell will be rung at the
fourth minute once and twice at the 5th minute (Timekeeper demonstrates).
Marks will be deducted thereafter.
-Introduces participants before they start their story. Eg, Next is
Participant Number 5, Ali bin Abu. With the story title.
-Once a participant has finished his/her story, emcee thanks the
participant and introduces the next participant.
-Once all participants have finished, emcee will end the competition and
thank everyone especially the judges.
-Judges will collaborate and finalise their marks and participants will be
taken down by students on duty to the musolla for Khat writing

3. Mitra – Coordinator for story telling

-Checklist for items for story telling is in place in PSS before the day of
the competition.
-Test microphone so that it is not too loud/too soft since it is a closed
room and make sure that there is a functional microphone stand.
- Charge the cordless mic-2 for story telling
-Once competition starts, make sure the flow is continuous. Any hiccups,
refer to Pn Kumi.
 -Make sure emcee and timekeeper are aware and know what is to be done
during the competition.
-Please put a sign at the front door of the PSS when the competition has
started so that there wont be people going in and out of the room.
-Make sure all participants are in the room during the whole competition.
Participants are only allowed to use the restrooms for a short period of time and
have to come back to the room as soon as possible.
-If other teachers (Guru Pengiring) enter to take photos, please limit their
time and make sure they remain silent while the competition is ongoing.
-Make sure judges have a bottle of water to drink and backup water.
-Once competition has finished, collect scoresheet from judges and pass
to Puan Kumuthini.
-Later on, Puan Kumi, Puan Mitra and Cik Azliza will sit together to
finalise the winners of all competitions in Makmal Komputer as soon as
possible.

B. Poetry Recital (SAL Room)

1. POEMS are required to be delivered in full within the given time (4minutes).

day of the competition.
- Scoresheet 3 sets to be printed and places on the tables
-Test microphone so that it is not too loud/too soft since it is a closed
room and make sure that there is a functional microphone stand.
-Once competition starts, make sure the flow is continuous. Any hiccups,
refer to Pn Kumi.
-Make sure emcee and timekeeper are aware and know what is to be done
during the competition.

participant and introduces the next participant.
-Once all participants have finished, emcee will end the competition and
thank everyone especially the judges.
-Judges will collaborate and finalise their marks and participants will be
taken down by students on duty to the hall.

3. Aslam – Coordinator for singing

-Checklist for items for singing is in place in Astaka before the day of the
competition.
-Test microphone so that it is not too loud/too soft.
- make sure there is a microphone stand based on the needs of the
paerticipants.
- test mp3 with the sound system .
Participants minus one will be tagged using numbers on their name tags.
-Once competition starts, make sure the flow is continuous. Any hiccups,
refer to Pn Kumi.
 -Make sure emcee and timekeeper are aware and know what is to be done
during the competition.
-Make sure judges have a bottle of water to drink and backup water.
-Once competition has finished, collect scoresheet from judges and pass
to Puan Kumuthini.
-Later on, Puan Kumi, and Aslam will sit together to finalise the winners
of all competitions in Makmal Komputer as soon as possible.

D. Spelling Bee ( Computer Lab )

-Explain the rules of the competition;
- pupils have to silent when words being read.
- pupils can discuss to write the answers
- pupils write their school name on the answer sheets.
3 rounds of words with a total of 50 words from easy to difficult level words.
- 10 seconds given after each word read out and will be repeated twice.
- meaning in a sentence given if students not clear so explain to them that they
have to raise their hands to ask the meaning.
- 1st round for 20 words ans answer sheets collected.
- 2nd round carried out for 20 words and answer sheets collected.
- 3rd round carried out for 10 words and answer sheets collected and stappled
together
- then the answer sheets are marked and marks are totaled up to find the
winners.

Spell master :
- make sure words are said out clearly .
- repeat the word twice.
- Once 1 set of school have finished 3 rounds, the next set of school will enter
and so on.
- During the last set of school, spelling will be done hybrid with 2 schools from
India.
- make sure the laptop is on and muted so that it wont disturb the participants in
the computer lab.
- india schools will email theirs answers immediately after each round.

Accompanying Teachers :

Gentle reminder for all accompanying teachers on site in SK Kelana Jaya (1) on
24th April 2024 :
Registration
1) Registration is at 7.30 am .
2) Please enter through SK Kelana Jaya (1) gate . ( picture )
3) Only the accompanying teacher will register all their participants at the
registration table whereby there will be receiving :
a) Snack coupons based on the number of participants in their school.
b) 1 Breakfast coupon for the accompanying teacher.
c) Lunch coupons based on the number of participants in their school.
d) Name Tags for participants according to their competitions which they
have to wear throughout the carnival.

4) Then they will taken to the hall to be seated.

5) The teachers and students can collect their breakfast and snacks beside the
hall. Please make sure you hand a coupon in 1st to get the food items.

Opening ceremony
1)Please be seated throughout the opening ceremony to avoid any
 interruptions.
2) Once the ceremony has come to an end, the VIPs and judges will move to the
back for light refreshments meanwhile the participants can have their snacks for
around 10 minutes. Then they will be taken to the competition rooms by the
committee members.
3) The accompanying teachers can stay on in the hall.

Competition Rooms
1) If the teachers would like to see their students in action, please refer to the
map attached.
2) Please make sure that you remain silent in the competition rooms and not
disturb the flow of the competitions.
3) If you would like to take pictures of the participants in action, please make
sure the flash is turned off.

Rest Room
1) Accompanying teachers can rest in Bilik Tinta Ilmu if needed.

Food
1) Snacks taken after registration.
2) Lunch at 12.30 pm taken at the same place using the snack coupon.
Closing Ceromony
1) Closing ceremony at 2.15 pm at the hall.
2) Winner s will be announced and given medals and trophies.
3) All students will be given participation certs by KPM with 3 months after this
Carnival.
