Topic: use of gadgets

Technology use in moderation is acceptable, perhaps even necessary, but when abused, it can be
extremely harmful.

The internet and video games have made the most progress in shaping the world we live in today.
(ARGUMENTATIVE)

Using gadgets nowadays is considered a “trend” for everyone. Teenagers and even oldies are so
consumed by the high technology we currently have. Children have their tablets, smartphones, and even
personal computers so they can play famous games like “Roblox” and watch online videos as well. The
number of children using smartphones and tablets has climbed dramatically in only two years. The
biennial poll found that children under the age of eight use mobile devices at a rate of 72 percent in
2013, up from 38 percent in 2011. The survey, which was conducted among American parents, also
revealed a rise in toddlers' gadget exposure from 10% to 38%. The American Academy of Pediatrics
advises against the use of technology by children under the age of two, claiming that it alters the
essence of childhood. Despite countless studies showing that modern gadgets have harmful effects on
youngsters, some experts remain optimistic about the future of technology. Technology should be
embraced but kept in check. – informative

Everywhere you look, everyone is engrossed in their phones or mobile gaming consoles. Special holidays
like Christmas where families gather together and have fun, these precious holidays are now spent with
no one physically interacting with one another since everyone is glued to their phones. Everyone uses
the internet to play online games and to communicate via social media. Post everything that’s
happening in their lives on Facebook and any other social media platforms. True, it makes our lives much
easier but excessive use of some online sites can lead to addiction as a result of the flow experience.
Clearly, it has a lot of negative effects when you use it without restrictions. There was evidence that
video game addiction led to sleep deprivation or a reduction in sleep time. Obesity, which is a growing
problem, was then linked to the reduction in sleep duration. Addiction has an impact not only on our
physical health but also on our mental health. Many victims of internet addiction develop dependence,
compulsive use, problematic use, and abuse. These impairments have an impact on their daily lives,
from school to work to relationships. –persuasive

The use of gadgets, the internet, and technology is certainly one of the reasons why our lives right now
seem to be easier compared to the life in the past where people need to wait for many months before
their messages or letters are delivered and received. Now, you just need to click some buttons and your
text messages are immediately sent to the receiver. From social media changing how people
communicate to smartphones making our daily lives easier by informing us about our schedules and
where to eat, technology plays an important role in our lives. It is much more convenient and accessible.
Regardless of these advantages, some think that using gadgets has way more negative effects.

It can negatively affect our environment. The environmental impact of technology has included the
misuse and destruction of our natural environment. The primary sources are all related to technologies
that emerged after the industrial revolution, such as the use of fossil fuels, factories, power plants, mass
agriculture, and automobiles.

Excessive use of gadgets will also increase the risk of getting a lot of health problems. Many health
problems have been reported as a result of constant use of gadgets, including eye strain, finger pain,
backache, neck pain, and sleep disturbances. There are negative physiological, psychological, social, and
emotional effects depending on the amount of time spent on gadgets (duration and frequency).

It is a new generation, and children should be given the appropriate amount of information about
technological breakthroughs. Although twenty-first-century technology has helped us advance into the
modern era and is still expanding, we must limit our use of technology and recognize the negative
consequences it carries.
