BIBLE STUDY OUTLINE FOR THE MONTH OF JULY 2024- WEEK 2

Welcome to the month of July. Get ready to participate in the Global communion service for this
month, holding on Sunday, July 7th. Ensure every member of your bible study class is present in
Church for this special service.

In our Bible study classes for this month, we will be discussing ETERNAL LIFE. This outline has
been created to guide your Cell's 1st Bible Study Class in the month of July. In preparing for the
Class, it’s vital that you (Cell Leaders and Bible Study Class Teachers) study this outline prior to
the cell meeting date to acquaint yourself with the topic and content. All the Scriptures given in
the outline are to be read out during the meeting. It’s important that the class participants look
into their Bibles while the Scriptures are read for perfect assimilation. You may also assign some
of the participants to read some of the Scriptures during the study. To be sure the participants
have their Bibles, kindly inform them before the meeting date to come along with it. As a strategic
and proactive Bible Study Class Teacher, ensure you make provision for first timers that will be in
attendance, who may not have their Bibles with them; or you may direct them to download the
Rhapsody of Realities Study Bible app from the Loveworld App Store at www.lwappstore.com. In
addition, don’t rush through the subject as you teach; remember that our intention is to have
every member of the class understand the subject matter and what the Bible teaches on it. At
different points of the class, request feedback from the participants to ensure they are following
and understanding the subject being taught.

Please note that all Scripture references are in the King James Version (KJV), unless otherwise
stated. Finally, ensure you communicate the class activity or actions to be taken before the next
class and monitor to ensure every member of the cell is participating in these activities.
 WHAT IS ETERNAL LIFE?

 It is the life and nature of God. It is the God-life, the very nature of God that makes Him God.
There is a natural biological life under which you have the normal human life, animal life and
plant life. All of these have their unique characteristics that distinguishes them. Eternal life is
the life that God has that distinguishes him as God. In Greek translation, it is called ZOE.

 It is the organic and existential attribute of deity. This means that for any being to be called
deity, eternal life has to be an inherent attribute. This being could not have been created or
made by another. Several people have made gods out of animals and inanimate objects.
However, eternal life must be organic and existential in deity and you can only find that in
the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as expressed in Jesus Christ

I John 1:2 - For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and
shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested
unto us

Here, the Apostle John was explaining that this life which was with the Father took on flesh and
was manifested. This refers to our Lord Jesus. Read also John 1:1-14

ETERNAL LIFE IS A GIFT

Titus 1: 2-3 - In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the
world began; But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching,
which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

Eternal life was a promise before the world began, which has now been fulfilled. God’s plan was
to make it available to all men through the preaching of the Gospel. Note that it is not a gift to
Christians, but to all men. Read John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life (Eternal life).

When a sinner believes in Jesus and confesses His Lordship, he or she receives eternal life and
becomes a Christian.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

In the mind of Justice, the whole world has been legally saved by Jesus Christ, because He paid
the price for every man’s sin, thus making eternal life possible and available to everyone.
Nonetheless, vital salvation must be actuated through individual faith in Christ Jesus. Read also
(Romans 10:9-10)

Because many don’t know this, they walk on in darkness, living the depraved human life, instead
of the divine life in Christ. That is why the onus is on us Christians to preach the Gospel to the
world.

ETERNAL LIFE IS YOURS NOW!

We have established the Truth that eternal life is a gift which you received when you proclaimed
the Lordship of Jesus over your life. This means you have that life now! Some Christians have
thought that it’s only when they get to heaven that this life is given, but this is untrue.

1 John 5:11-13 - And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and
this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of
God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of
the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may
believe on the name of the Son of God.

This Scripture does not say that God is going to give us eternal life but he has given us. It’s in past
tense, meaning it’s already done.

When you got born again, eternal life supplanted the human life with which you were born of
your earthly parents. You don’t have two lives - human and eternal existing in you. Some
Christians think this way. Some others also refer to themselves as mere human beings. You would
hear it when they speak. They say things like, ‘ we are only humans.’ No! What you have is
eternal life now! You are divine. Quit referring to yourself as merely human.

John 1:12-13 - But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the
sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: which were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

This is your origin, you were born of God, therefore you have the life and nature of God in you -
Eternal life.

One may ask -Why would God want to give us something higher than the human life? After all,
He made the first man and breathed in him the breathe of life, so why another life? Recall that
Adam and Eve succumbed to satan by obeying his instructions against God’s instructions. From
then on, sin came into the world and corrupted the human nature. Hence, anyone born into the
world was born with the sin nature, which is defeat, disease and death-prone. God provided
another life - the God-kind of life, so that human beings may transcend the ordinary human
mortal life and come into immortality, the life and nature of God. This is the life Jesus brought to
the world.

John 17: 1-3 - These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said,
Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As
thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as
many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee
the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

CONCLUSION

Eternal life is the very nature of God, superior to the normal human life and is not subject to
satan, disease, death and failure. This is the life that Jesus brought into this world, and is
available to as many as believe and confess His Lordship over their lives. As a Christian, eternal
life is your present hour possession, not when you get to Heaven.

AFFIRMATIONS

The supernatural, immortal and incorruptible life of Christ is at work in me; therefore, I live
above sickness, disease and all the depravities that affect the human nature. I am an associate of
the God-kind, manifesting the glory and virtues of divinity, in Jesus Name, Amen!
