capture all kind of data and information and analyze it properly for smooth
functioning of the hostel. Hostel warden can easily maintain the data. Hostel
management in schools often involve administering of all activities of
students.
All these still remain difficult and require some job for the top management,
hostel management function and responsibilities in modern day school have
always been a problem in managing because of the manual system method
of tools they use.

the hostel activity.

The first youth Hostel founded by Richard Schirrmann around 1909 (www.
Hostels central. Com/hostels-article 6. html). He was a German teacher who
organized trips and visits with his students during one of these excursions, a
sudden rainstorm forced his group to seek shelter in an empty school. It was
then that Schirrmann had the idea of using schools that were empty during
holidays as guest houses for young people that were travelling in groups in
the country side (www. Hostels central.com/hostels-article-6.html).
The concept of student "youth hostels" was born. The movement flourished
in Germany. Permanent hostels were established by gifts of hiking and
recreation clubs, wealthy patrons and location communities. By 1932,

Switzerland, Poland, and Netherlands, Narway, Denmark, the British Isless,
Ireland, France and Belgium had joined the movement and another hostel in

was held in Amsterdam to develop common standards. The international
youth hostel federation was formed (http: /hiusa. Org/about us/history).

5.0 SUMMARY
In the past decades,
SUMMARY, the number numbers
RECOMMENDATION ANDof CONCLUSION
educational institutions are
increasing rapidly. Thereby the numbers of hostels are also increasing for the
accommodation of the students studying in these institutions. Hence there is
a lot of strain on the personnel running the hostel and software are not
usually used in this context. When hostel allocation management is
performed manually more human error, more strength and strain of manual
labor is needed. Repitition of the same procedures, low security, data
redundancy, handling difficulty and update data difficulty are some of the
problems encountered. This has led to the implementation and development
of a hostel allocation management system. The proposed system is very easy
to operate. Speed and accuracy are the main advantages of the proposed
system. The re is no redundancy of data. The data are stored in the computer
secondary memories like hard disk etc.It can be easily retrieved and used at
any time. The proposed system will easily handle all the data and the work
done by the existing systems. The proposed system eliminates the drawbacks
of the existing system to a great extent and it provides tight security to data.
5.2 CONCLUSION
The aim of this research project is to design and implement a student hostel
allocation system to address the drawbacks faced by the current manual
system of allocation. This was achieved through the development of a

Future researchers should improve on the hostel allocation system for
allowing provisions for online storage to further protect the contact detail in
the event of PC loss or failure.
Information entered into the database should be stored in an encrypted
format so as to provide protection from unauthorized users.
The solution is suitable for use by any academic institutions that are
