ABSTRACT

This report presents the internship experience at AD Media, a renowned digital


marketing agency in Coimbatore. The objective of the internship was to gain a
comprehensive understanding of digital marketing, with a specific focus on off-page
SEO techniques. The report provides an overview of the company and its services,
highlighting its commitment to excellence in the industry. The major outcomes of the
internship include acquiring knowledge and practical skills in various aspects of off-
page SEO, such as social bookmarking, classified submissions, business listings,
directory submissions, and forum participation. The report emphasizes the importance
of high-quality backlinks, mathematical optimization, and targeting long-tail keywords
to enhance website visibility, search engine rankings, and organic traffic. The
conclusion highlights the significance of practical experience through internships and
the value of networking opportunities for career growth. The internship provided
valuable insights and skills that will contribute to implementing effective and results-
driven SEO strategies in the future.

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

As AD Media is a digital marketing company, we were trained to develop our


knowledge on SEO Techniques for the webpages already developed by the company.
For that they used to train us on the field of Off-Page SEO Techniques which include
Social Bookmarking, Classification Submission, Business Listing and Directory
Submission, Forum Submission.

1.1. COMPANY BACKGROUND:

Ad Media is a reputable digital marketing agency established in 2012 by Mrs.


Shanthi.C. Headquartered in Coimbatore, this company has a strong track record in
assisting business owners in digitally transforming their enterprises. With years of
experience, Ad Media offers extensive services including Digital Marketing, Web
Hosting, Web Development, Advertising, and Branding. They possess a team of
dedicated professionals who strive to provide innovative and tailored solutions to their
clients. Ad Media's commitment to excellence and client-centered approach has made it
a leading player in the industry, making it an ideal destination for internships and career
growth opportunities.

1.2. TRAINING OBJECTIVE:

AD Media is not only into Digital marketing, but also provide other services like Web
development, advertising etc. So, being in such domain they provide internships
exclusively for digital marketing so that their clients get a website developed by the
company employees and the digital marketing done by interns. As an intern at AD
Media, knowing the digital marketing strategies and techniques is the main objective of
the internship. Getting exposed to such tools and gathering a wide range of knowledge
in this field benefits an intern during the internship.

1.3. STUDENT WORK ASSIGNMENT:

During the internship, several tasks were assigned under the off-page SEO techniques. The
exploration began with social bookmarking sites, where each intern was responsible for
optimizing webpages using assigned keywords/tags and generating plagiarism-free
descriptions through the AIPRM extension. Subsequently, classified submission sites were
introduced, followed by business listing sites, where the tasks involved creating a specified
number of links. Towards the end of the week, a more substantial task combined social
bookmarking and classified submission sites. The subsequent week introduced directory
submission sites and forum submission sites. Competitor research was conducted to identify
30 links for each intern, and diverse SEO strategies were implemented to enhance search
engine rankings, augment organic traffic, and amplify overall website visibility in search
results. To further boost website visibility, forum submission and directory submission
methods were incorporated. Each intern actively engaged in relevant forums and submitted
the website to reputable directories, resulting in improved online presence. A collaborative
approach was embraced, assigning teams of five members specific websites and keywords.
The task involved leveraging social bookmarking, classified submission, and forum
participation to generate 40 high-quality links per team member. This collaborative effort
aimed to maximize online visibility and improve keyword rankings.

TECHNICAL SECTION

2.1 Digital Marketing and its significance:

Any form of marketing can make a business successful. But because digital platforms
are so widely available, digital marketing has grown in significance. In reality, just in
April 2022, there were 5 billion internet users worldwide. There are various ways to
employ digital marketing strategies to reach your target audience, from social media to
SMS messages. Digital marketing is also a low-cost marketing strategy for small
enterprises because of its low upfront costs.

2.2 Types of Digital Marketing:
There are numerous strategies and techniques used in Digital Marketing in which some
of them are listed below:

 Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

 Social Media Marketing (SMM)

 Content Marketing
 Affiliate Marketing
 Email Marketing

2.3 Search Engine Optimization (SEO) :
SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. It describes a series of techniques
that improve the visibility of a website in search engine result pages. The goal of such
optimization is to rank as high as possible for a certain search query.

The SEO is Broadly classified into 3 categories, which is shown in the figure given
below.

 On-Page SEO:
It is the process of making your website search engine friendly.

In simple words this means adjusting certain elements on your website so that search

engine are able to crawl and understand the content and structure of your website

 Off-Page SEO:

It refers to techniques that can be used to improve the position of a website in the search
engine results page (SERPs).

There are a wide range of technique used under off-page SEO which are external to the
webpage contents.

 Technical SEO:

The practice of ensuring that a website fits the67 technical standards of modern search
engines to improve organic ranks is known as technical SEO.

2.4 Tools Used for Off-Page SEO:
 AIPRM

AIPRM stands for Artificial Intelligence in Project Resource Management, which is


used for content creation, marketing strategies, and Blogging efforts.

With its vast array of Blogging prompt templates, AIPRM takes the guesswork out of
keyword strategy, article rewriting, blog generation, and content outlining.

 Website Authority Checker

“Website authority” is an SEO concept that refers to the “strength” of a given domain.

Providing backlinks to a website through various off-page SEO Techniques like social
bookmarking sites and business listing sites with a Domain Authority greater than 40 is
preferred to prevent it from getting spammed.

 Competitive Research for SEO

An SEO competitor analysis is the act of checking out your industry's competitive
landscape online, evaluating your SEO competition, and analysing the information you
uncover to boost your own website SEO and climb up the rankings.

Finding the Competitor’s backlink sites helps one company to rank better than those
competitors by posting their backlinks to them.

2.5 Off-Page SEO Techniques used in Internship:

 Social Bookmarking sites

In social bookmarking sites, discussion topics are organized into specific rooms or
threads where users follow content that’s interesting to them.

STEP 1: Browse the list of free Social Bookmarking sites in the web.

STEP 3: Check the Domain Authority of the site using Website authority checker (such
as aherfs.com). Make sure the Domain Authority is greater then 40 in order to not get
spammed.

STEP 4: Submit with necessary details like keywords/tags, title and description fetched
from AIPRM (ChatGPT).

STEP 5: Take a track of the Username, Password, Email and other details including the
submitted link of the social bookmarking site. This can be used for future references as
well.

 Classified Submission sites

Classified Submission is a process where you let the world know about your business
and services. It includes an off-page SEO process for website promotion and business
awareness locally & nationally. The procedure is similar to that of the social
bookmarking sites except for the case that the category of the submission is mentioned
for targeting audience.

Similarly take record of the link details and submitted link of classified sites.

 Business Listing sites

Provide valuable information about your business to prospective customers. Increase


your business's visibility in local search. Increase your chances of outranking your local
competitors.

Directory submission being a basic aspect of Off-page optimization, helps in doing


search engine optimization. Directory submissions also attract traffic to your website
and get high-quality no follow backlinks.

It is a pretty easy yet effective method for increasing the authority and credibility of
your website. They are online discussion sites, and forum posting is a part of Off-page
SEO. Submit the Forum with the question and answer for Forum submission.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

AD Media has provided me a great opportunity to enhance myself with


industrial skills, strategies and training provided by experienced people. It helps us to
enrich our practical knowledge, to know about the importance of team-work and team
coordination. It also gave an idea of how to provide an effective solution to the real-
world problems in a logical and technical way.

The Internship at AD Media provided me a great opportunity to obtain


industrial exposure with experienced people. As it is a short duration the internship has
been completed within a few days. It is recommended to provide a long-term internship
offer which helps to get a vast idea and knowledge to equip my skills on the particular
domain.
