Admission to the test is provisional subject to satisfactory completion of the Advanced ICITSS-
Advanced IT course conducted by the Board of Studies and meeting other eligibility conditions
given in the guidance notes. In case it is discovered at a later date that the candidate has not
complied with the eligibility conditions, his/her result may be cancelled and appearance at the
test may be treated as null and void.

You are registered in Final Old/ New course.
You have cleared or will be clearing the Advanced ICITSS- Advanced IT course on/before 15th August 2020.

The Institute has the right to disqualify the candidate and stop the test in case your image during
the exam does not match with the image on the photo-id submitted at the time of applying for the
exam. Please carefully read and understand the instructions given in the enclosed "Instructions to
Examinees".
At first level, please contact to the proctors assigned to you at the time of exam.

Presence of any other person or presence / use of mobile phones or any other electronic
gadgets / device or its assistance during appearance of test is strictly prohibited and will
be treated as use of unfair means. While taking this test the mobile can only be used for
talking to the assigned proctor.
Candidates are required to produce valid Original photo ID card to the examination proctor. In the absence of
valid Photo Identity Card (Identity Card issued by ICAI or government issued photo id e.g. aadhar card,
driving license), candidates will be denied taking the test.

INSTRUCTIONS TO EXAMINEES

How to start home based test :-

Before starting the Exam Login Process, please disable Pop-up blocker on Google Chrome &
download Google Chrome Extension by using the below link or Use updated version of Mozilla
Firefox.

After installation of above extension, login on exam registration portal (https://advit.icaiexam.icai.org) -

1. Immediately on receipt of admit card, candidates are required to check that the Admit Card bears the photograph,
Student Registration No. and ensure that the Roll No, signature of the Additional Secretary (Exams), etc. are also printed
in the admit card. In case of any error, candidates are advised to contact/write to the advanceditt_examhelpline@icai.in
immediately. Admit card is valid only for the examination date mentioned in the admit card.
2. Candidates are required to produce valid Original photo ID card to the exam proctor. In the absence of Photo Identity
Card, candidates will be denied taking the test.
3. Candidates must ensure that at their home/test location following system requirements are met :
Laptop or Desktop (Window 7 or above, at least 4GB RAM, Updated version of Mozilla Firefox Browser or Google
chrome).
Compatible web camera.
Electricity Backup of at least 4 Hours (Generator, Inverter, UPS).
Active Full-Time/Broadband internet connection of at least 1 Mbps.
Keyboard and mouse.

4. Candidates should report online by 09:45 AM. (IST), Exam will start at 10.30 AM after which the login to test will NOT
be allowed. Late joining of candidates will not be permitted. Any disconnection of internet/exam will not be permitted till
the conclusion of the test. Disconnection from the assigned proctor may be treated as unfair means.
5. The test has to be completed by 12:30pm. in case of disconnections please take help of proctors. The duration of test
will be extended to give you full two hours but in case of frequent disconnections, the test will not go beyond 2:30 and
the responses will be auto submitted on as is basis and evaluated thereon. Note that ONLY Questions for which answers
are saved or marked for review after answering will be considered for evaluation
6. No candidate will be permitted to leave till the examination is over. Exam submit button will be activated after 12:15 PM
(IST).
7. Candidates should carefully read and follow the instructions that appear on the computer screen at the start of the
examination.
8. The examination will be in English language only. It will be an On-line MCQ-based test of two hours duration.
9. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
10. Upon establishing connection with the proctor, candidate’s activities will be monitored by proctors and activity log will
be maintained.
11. Log in using the user ID and password provided to you and check that your name appears in the top left-hand corner
when you start.
12. You will not be able to download or print or open any other application in your computer or access any website during
the test.
13. You should ensure as far as possible that you will not need a break during the exam.
14. Candidates should carefully read and follow the instructions that appear on the computer screen at the start of the
examination.
15. You will not be permitted to disconnect from exam system or leave the exam hall even if you complete the test before
the schedule time of conclusion. Remain seated in your desk and connected to the proctor.
In case computes/laptop on which candidate is giving the exam crashes or there is hindrance due to internet then again
16. same process has to follow for relogging in the test environment.
Any candidate found either copying or receiving or giving assistance will be disqualified. Any malpractice in the
17. examination shall attract action that is deemed as fit by the proctor.

18. Use of calculator and/or such devices is/are not allowed.


No candidate shall carry any paper, book, notes or any other material, nor shall he/she communicate with any other
19. person / internet, when the examination is in progress.
20. No eatables will be allowed during the examination.
21. Candidates will have to follow the instructions of the proctor at all stages of the Test.
22. Smoking, chewing of tobacco, betel, intoxicant, etc. are strictly prohibited during the examination.
23. The use of mobile phone is permitted only for talking to the assigned proctor and not any body else. Any such activity
recorded will be treated as having resorted to unfair means. You must take proctors permission before calling someone
for technical help.
24. Do not use the earphone/headphones during the test.
25. Candidates are required to maintain complete discipline in the room where he is giving the exam and any misdemeanor
on their part (i.e. talking to, receiving/giving any help, copying from any text, defying instruction of the proctor etc.) will
tantamount to adoption of unfair means in the test. In such a situation, the candidate concerned will be expelled from
the examination system and will be subject to such other action, as deemed fit, as per the Chartered Accountants
Regulations, 1988. The candidate, who had been expelled, must submit his explanation in writing through the proctor.
26. The exam proctor has absolute power to expel a candidate from the examination system, if in his opinion, the candidate
has misbehaved or has obstructed him or any other official on examination duty in carrying out his duties.
27. In case of any inadvertent mistake or framing of the question in the question paper, may send an email at
examfeedback@icai.in within three days of the date of Advanced ICITSS-Advanced Information Technology Test stating
his/her student registration number and name.
28. Candidate must undertake that :
a I am attempting this exam where only I am present and there is no one in the room.
b I am not keeping any books / reference material / calculator etc and nothing is written on the walls / desk.
c I am prepared to sit for the full duration and will not leave the seat even for washroom.
d I understand that any means to indulge in activity other than attempting exam will lead to disqualification and the
proctors decision will be final.
e The Institute has the right to disqualify me and stop the test in case my image during the exam does not match
with the image on the photo-id submitted at the time of applying for the exam.
f I will maintain the decorum and sanctity of the exam.
g I shall abide by the instructions of the proctor and any activity of mine which can lead to the disruption of the
exam will be treated as resorting to unfair means.
29. The following are not permitted:-
a Attempting to take the examination for someone else, i.e. Impersonation.
b Giving or receiving assistance of any kind during the examination, and communication in any form with other
candidates or with outsiders, etc.
c Leaving the exam system without the permission from the proctor / before the specified time.
d Using prohibited aids, items not allowed, such as – mobile phones, pen drive, Tabs, notes, papers, electronic
diaries, watch alarms, listening devices and recording or photographic devices.
e Attempting to copy examination questions and /or examination responses (in any format) from the examination
system.
f Any misconduct or misbehaviour or creating disturbance in the exam.

30. Candidates are required to strictly follow all the instructions/rules including those given by the examination proctor.
Violation of any of the rules/instructions will tantamount to adoption of unfair means. In such a situation, the candidate
concerned will be expelled from the examination hall and will be subject to such other action, as deemed fit, as per the
Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.

Candidates are required to extend full cooperation during the examination.
