A. Uploading of the ATSU A/C INTERFACE Software (20TX)

NOTE: The uploading time for a full disk changes in relation to the software. The maximum uploading time
is 40 minutes.

NOTE: After the uploading operations, the operator must mandatorily do a check of the reference of the
data uploaded into the ATSU, on the MCDU.

ACTION RESULT
On the MDDU:
· The < < MDDU READY > > indication is shown.

NOTE: If more than one disk is necessary for the up-


loading, the EJECT DISK and INSERT NEXT
DISK indications are shown one after the oth-
er. They tell the operator to put a new disk
into the MDDU. When all the disks are up-
loaded into the ATSU, the TRANSF COM-
PLETE indication is shown.

NOTE: If more than one disk is necessary to do the


uploading and if a transfer fault occurs, you
must do the uploading again from the start
(from disk 1).

On the MDDU: On the MDDU:

A. Loading of the ATSU A/C INTERFACE Software (20TX)

NOTE: This procedure is used to upload software with the Portable Data Loader (PDL) (PMAT2000 KIT or
equivalent).

NOTE: If the PDL has the digital signature check, two messages can be triggered by the PDL:
- One if the PDL detects that the software is not signed (refer to PDL user-guide), this message
can be ignored and has no effect on A/C software uploading.
- One if the PDL detects an incorrect or corrupted signature (refer to PDL user-guide), then the
software uploading will not be possible and another software has to be used.

For data security reasons, Airbus recommends that the user does a report of the fault to his
Aircraft Security Focal Point.

NOTE: The loading time for a full disk changes in relation to the software. The maximum loading time is

NOTE: If more than one disk is necessary for the up-


loading, the EJECT DISK and INSERT NEXT

C. Loading of the ATSU CONFIGURATION software (21TX) and/or the ATSU ROUTER PARAMETERS
software (30TX)

NOTE: This procedure is used to upload software with the Portable Data Loader (PDL) (PMAT2000 KIT or
equivalent).

NOTE: If the PDL has the digital signature check, two messages can be triggered by the PDL:
- One if the PDL detects that the software is not signed (refer to PDL user-guide), this message
can be ignored and has no effect on A/C software uploading.

For data security reasons, Airbus recommends that the user does a report of the fault to his
Aircraft Security Focal Point.

NOTE: The loading time for a full disk changes in relation to the software. The maximum loading time is
40 minutes.

NOTE: After the uploading operations, the operator must mandatorily do a check of the reference of the
data loaded into the ATSU, on the MCDU.

NOTE: When you upload the FIN 30TX, if the P/Ns of the FINs 20TX and 30TX are not compatible:
- It is necessary to upload again the ATSU software 20TX and 21TX.

ACTION RESULT

Do the uploading of the ATC applications in this sequence:


· ATC HMI UTILITIES software (disk 25TX)
· ATSU ATC FANS A APPLICATIONS software (disk 35TX)
· ATSU ATC ARINC 623 APPLICATIONS software (disk 23TX)
to prevent generation of BITE messages (these applications are interactive).
Set the two DATA LOADER selector switches to OFF between the uploading operations for each set of
disks. Thus, the ATSU does a Power On Self Test (POST) to validate each uploading and the application
is operational.

NOTE: The loading time for one full disk is ten minutes approximately.

NOTE: After the uploading operations, the operator must mandatorily do a check of the reference of the
data loaded in the ATSU, on the MCDU.

NOTE: If the PDL has the digital signature check, two messages can be triggered by the PDL:
- One if the PDL detects that the software is not signed (refer to PDL user-guide), this message
can be ignored and has no effect on A/C software uploading.
- One if the PDL detects an incorrect or corrupted signature (refer to PDL user-guide), then the
software uploading will not be possible and another software has to be used.

Set the two DLS switches to OFF between the uploading operations for each set of disks. Thus, the ATSU
does a Power on Self Test to validate each uploading and the application is operational.

NOTE: The loading time for a full disk is 40 minutes maximum.

NOTE: After the uploading operations, the operator must do a check of the reference of the data loaded
into the ATSU, on the MCDU.

NOTE: During the uploading of the FIN 24TX customized, if you disconnect the MDDU before the
TRANSF COMPLETE or TRANSF FAILED indication is shown:
- It will be necessary to upload again all the software loaded into the ATSU (this is not applicable
to FIN 20TX).

NOTE: If FIN 22TX and FIN 24TX were uploaded and if it is necessary to upload them again:
