Each Numberblock has its very own
numberling, the floating number
above its head that shows how many 3
blocks it has. Without the correct
numberling, the Numberblocks can’t
count! Play a game in which children

must match each Numberblock to the
right numberling. Begin by building
Numberblocks One to Ten and place
an incorrect numberling above each
(for example, place the numberling
“5” above character Two). Encourage
children to rearrange the numberlings
so they are above the matching
Numberblock character. For more fun,
replay the game with a timer to see if
children can complete the challenge
even faster!
