1.3 Word Problems
1. (a) The figure below is made up of 2 squares and a rectangle.
What is the perimeter of the figure?

(b) The figure below is made up of 2 squares and a rectangle. If the breadth of the
rectangle is one-third of the length of the big square.
What is the area of the figure?
