● Provide a detailed specification (Design data) for air handling and associated equipment serving
M/C ROOM - 3.
● Ensure that the equipment specification and functional requirement s are achieved.
● The HVAC system should comply with the following cGMP critical parameters as per design
intent:
● Temperature.
● ACPH.
Basis of Design:
Outside Design conditions selected for the design basis are as follows:
All seasons
The scope of this document is limited to provide detailed design descriptions of HVAC system to
the customer. This design specification is essential part of the qualification mechanism and will
serve as a basic document for the further validation activities.

4. Responsibilities:
Design Qualification is a Design basis document which is achieved with the information sharing
with the Customer and the Contractor. The responsibilities are defined as following
Acme:
● To provide layout plans and room data sheet for the HVAC System.
● To provide civil and other utility requirements as mentioned under exclusions.
● To check and approve the Design qualification document.
● To coordinate between various services and approve the coordination drawing
● Equipment location and orientation with respect to the layouts
Contractor:
● To provide the complete technical details of the HVAC system pertaining to its design
qualification.
● To confirm the safe delivery of the HVAC system to the user site.
5 . Design requirements:
The HVAC system comprises of a central chilling unit which produces chilled water at desired
temperature. This water is pumped to the ware house building with the help of piping
network/pumps and feed the required water quantity to the air handling units. The air handling
units have various components like fans, heat exchange coils and filters. These components are
designed based on the specified indoor conditions and parameters mentioned in the following
sections of this document.
The warehouse area shall be served by 1 air handling units of 2000 cfm in order to meet the cooling
load demand.
The system shall serve following areas
1 M/C ROOM - 3
1. AHU shall be double skin construction and shall be fabricated out of minimum 0.60mm plain
GI sheet inner skin & 0.60 mm outer skin Pre-coated GI sheet with extruded profile Al anodized
frame with thermal break profile. AHUs shall have all internal components of suitable MOC
for clean room application.
2. Framework shall be bolted together with sandwich panel having 50±2mm thick PUF Insulation.
3. Condensate drain pan shall be 1.2 mm thick Stainless Steel with 19mm thick Nitrile Rubber
Insulation with proper slope to ensure no stagnant water in the pan.
The unit shall be supplied with DIDW forward curved fan with drive motor connected to a variable
speed drive. These fans shall be selected for optimum operational efficiency.
These AHUs are provided with Combination G4 filter as Primary filtration. Adequate no. of access
doors shall be provided for future maintenance in terms of cleaning / replacement of filters.
The unit shall be provided with chilled water coils connected to central chilling units to provide
cooling.
Air distribution consists of supply, return air ducts, M/C ROOM -3 and grilles etc. GI ducting of
suitable sizes shall be used for carrying air. The ducts shall be fabricated from galvanized steel
sheets class CNC conforming to ISI: 277-1962 (revised). GI sheet of Zinc coating of minimum gram
per sq.mtr. (Both sides included) shall be used as per the standard.
The air shall be supplied to rooms through supply air Grills selected for high throw so as to cover
the entire length of storage area. These Grills shall be connected to supply ducts. Return air shall
be picked up from area through return air Grills.
Dampers shall be provided on Supply / Return air duct near AHU.
The supply air ducts shall be insulated with 19 mm thick XLP insulation.
Similarly return air ducts shall be insulated 13 mm thick XLP rubber insulation.
Insulation shall be pasted on to the ducts with the help of rubber adhesive.
Electrical panel shall be provided with AHU to provide power to Starter Panel.
The electrical panel shall also provide power to control valve actuator.
Each AHU shall be connected to central chilled ware system with a pipe manifold comprising of
isolation valves (05nos). Strainers (01), balancing valve (01) and Control valve (01). The control
valve shall be modulating type with electronic actuator which shall vary the flow of chilled water
in the coil to maintain the required temperature as per demand of cooling load.
A temperature sensor installed in return air duct with a temperature controller shall be installed
to provide signal to control valve.
