5-Storey Architecture School Building

(Final Term Plate)

I. Background/ Rationale

The study of architecture is defined as the academic pursuit and

professional training that focuses on the principles, theories, and practices
related to the design, planning, and construction of buildings and other
physical structures. It involves the exploration of various aspects, including
aesthetics, functionality, sustainability, cultural context, and technological
advancements.

The goal of studying architecture is to develop the knowledge, skills, and

critical thinking abilities necessary to create innovative, functional, and
aesthetically appealing built environments that meet the needs of
individuals and communities. Moreover, provide students with the training
necessary to become professional Architects.

II. Statement of the Project:

In view of the above, a modern Architectural School also known as a school

of architecture, need to be constructed to create a unique and inspiring
learning environments for the aspiring Architects. The said school can be
seen as opportunities for design experimentation and architectural
expression. They often reflect the creativity and innovation of the
architectural profession.

The architecture school building is to be designed to accommodate specific

functions and activities. The spatial organization involves the arrangement
and distribution of rooms, circulation paths, and open areas within the
building. The designer shall consider factors like user flow, accessibility,
natural lighting, ventilation, and acoustics to create efficient and pleasant
spaces.

Sustainable design principles should be incorporated. These features may

include energy-efficient lighting systems, natural ventilation strategies,
renewable energy sources, rainwater harvesting systems, and green roofs
or gardens. Sustainable design showcases environmental stewardship and
serves as a teaching tool for the students.

People with Disability (PWD) Accessibility Code has to be consider

III. Site Description:

The site is located in a busy Quezon City area fronting Commonwealth

Avenue and a minor road on the rear side of the lot. Having a frontage of
100mts and a depth of 250mts with a total area of 25,000 sq.mts. The lot
is facing West and has a rolling terrain. The Commonwealth avenue can be
considered as the vantage point for the school with the highest impact as
it is a busy highway where public and private vehicles pass by. The minor
road is undeveloped street but is included for public development.
