Cisco AnyConnect VPN

Purpose
 Learn how to gain remote access to Summit’s network using a two-factor authentication process

Duo Mobile Security

From the Start menu, open Cisco AnyConnect Mobility


Client (you may pin this icon to your taskbar or desktop
for easy access).

Click on Connect.

Login using your Windows Username and Password.

You will have four ways to log onto Summit’s network:


1: Duo Security will send a passcode to the Duo
Mobile app
2: Duo Security will call your phone number on
file and provide you with a passcode
3: Duo Security will text you a passcode
4: Passcode from the hardware token or Duo
Mobile app
Option 1: Push Notification
Enter 1 in the Answer key and click Continue

Open the push notification on your phone and click on


Approve.
You are now connected to Summit’s network.

Option 2: Call Notification


Enter 2 in the Answer key and click Continue.
You will receive a phone call; follow the prompts given
by the operator to log onto Summit’s network.

Option 3: Text Notification


Enter 3 in the Answer key and click Continue.

Open your text message containing a 7-digit passcode.


Enter the 7-digit passcode in the Answer key and click
Continue.
You are now connected to Summit’s network.

Option 4: Hardware token/Duo Mobile passcode


Hardware token: Enter the 6-digit passcode in the
Answer key and click Continue.
Duo Mobile app: Open the app and enter the 6-digit
passcode in the Answer key. Click Continue.

Open Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client (VPN


Software). This must be done while connected to the
VPN. Click the Gear in the bottom left corner.

Select the Statistics tab (2nd tab). The Client (IPv4)


address will be displayed. This information needs to
be provided with IT Support ticket submissions or
during a phone request to allow an IT technician to
gain access to your device.
