ASSIGNMENT : MOTION IN STRAIGHT LINE

1. Can a body have a constant speed and still have a varying velocity?
2. Can a body have zero velocity but still accelerating.
3. Under what condition average velocity is equal to instantaneous velocity.
4. Draw position time graphs for two objects having zero relative velocity.
5. What do the slopes of ‘distance-time’ and ‘velocity-time’ graphs
represent? What do positive and negative values of these slopes imply?
6. The displacement of particle at time t is given by x=a-bt+ct 2. Find the
acceleration of particle.
7. The displacement of a particle along X-axis is given by x=3+8t+7t 2.

8. A particle moves along a straight line such that its displacement s at any
time t is given by s=t3 – 6t2+3t +4 metres. Find the velocity, when the
acceleration is zero.

it go and with what velocity was it thrown? How far was it below the
highest point 3sec after it was thrown.
13. Draw velocity-time graph of a uniformly accelerated motion and
explain that the distance travelled is equal to the area under velocity-
time graph

off.
