for Santa...
& Grover's first Christmas
T'was the night before Christmas Eve,
and our old friend Santa was ready to leave.

It was one day too early

but Santa was confused.
You see, Mrs. Claus' memory
had been a bit bruised...

Their calendar was hung by the fire

but it was set to the wrong year,
and so she told Santa to leave a whole day early
to deliver the toy gear!
Santa's first house was of a small moose.
It just so happens that this moose's name was...

GOOSE!
You see, Goose had been on the good moose list,
but she wasn't ready for Santa's small calendar twist!
Christmas was still
a longggg 2 days away.
Goose's stocking had just
been hung up that day.

There was no milk

and no cookies yet by the fire...
meanwhile Santa and his reindeer
were flying HIGHER AND HIGHER!
Goose went to bed and
her imagination ran wild,
"What if Santa came one day early?!"
she thought as she smiled.

Then she drifted off on this

quiet Christmas Eve-Eve,
What would happen next?
Not even Goose would believe...
Goose woke up to a
loud thump and a bump.
In her throat formed
a big lump and a clump.

There was no way that

Goose could now rest,
those reindeer were noisy
but they were trying their best.
Santa bounded down the chimney,
he got a bit stuck on the way.
He wasn't very quiet...
he couldn't afford the delay!

Goose couldn't deny

she had just heard a huge clatter.
Could it be that Santa
was now using a ladder!?
Santa's hips were very sore,
he felt like an old elf.
But he had to keep going
to put all the toys on the shelf!

Sitting down on the couch

he put up his feet,
looking high and low around the tree,
"Where is my treat?!"
And you could probably guess the huge surprise,
in our little Goose the moose's eyes...
When she looked down the stairs to see a black boot,
and the large leg of a Santa suit!

Goose bounded down the stairs

to give Santa a hello.
Hugging him felt like jumping
into a bowl full of jello!

Santa looked a bit sad,

the tip of his nose like a cherry.
For someone who loves Christmas,
he didn't look very merry...
"There's no cookies anywhere...
and I'm as hungry as a bear!"
Goose fetched him some
warm cookies and milk,
and when she broke the news,
Santa started to sulk.

"Christmas Eve is tomorrow night..."

Goose had said with some dread.

"Oh dear... My magic only works

when I believe it’s Christmas Eve,
so how will I fly off your roof
when I try to go leave!?"
Goose worried and she could see
the hurt in Santa’s eyes.
She wanted to help,
so she told some white lies.

"Santa, I think there’s still some magic

the night before Christmas Eve.
All you have to do is
close your eyes and believe!

I'll help the reindeer tow your sleigh with my snowboard

and we shall trek forth!
I want to make sure you get back home
in time for the 24th!"

Santa thanked Goose

as he finished his cookie,
he needed the snack...
he was a ski rookie!
Santa got a quick lesson
to turn his skis into 'pizza' and 'fries.'
Goose tried to be a good teacher,
but she could see the fear in Santa's eyes...

They counted to 3
and sped down the hill,
pulling the reindeer
was a very big deal!

Goose led the way

through the air on her snowboard,
Rudolf was jealous,
he felt a bit ignored.
Mrs. Claus was surprised
to see her hubby back so soon,
"Christmas Eve is tomorrow night!!?"
she laughed, as Santa felt like a goon!

He told her of a small special moose

who brought him home on some skis.
This moose lifted him up with real magic,
flying them high above the trees!
The next morning Goose woke up,
she was back in her bed.
It was the morning of Christmas Eve...
Was last night all in her head?!

Goose's parents didn’t believe her,

but who would?
Of how Santa came a day too early,
a dream in every moose's childhood.
And so that is the story
of a very special Christmas,
and of the moose who accidentally
got into the toy delivery business!

When Santa came back on the

REAL Christmas Eve...
Well, our Goose was fast asleep.
Santa sneakily ate all the cookies
and he didn't make so much as a peep!

As his sleigh took off and the reindeer took flight,

Goose awoke to hear Santa exclaim with all his might:
"Merry Moosemas to all!
And to all a MOOSE night!!"
