Villain vs Hero

Introduction: Barack Obama, the forty-fourth president of the United States, has
been a polarizing figure in the recent history of world politics. Some consider him a
hero for his charisma, his ability to inspire the masses, and his commitment to
equality and social justice. Others see him as a villain for his interventionist policies
in the Middle East, his support for large corporations and his lack of action on
essential issues such as the migration crisis and climate change.

Development: To determine whether Obama was a hero or a villain in humanity, it

is essential to analyze his legacy from different perspectives. It is undeniable that
Obama made important progress in the fight for racial and gender equality in the
United States. His election as the first African-American president in the country's
history marked a milestone in the fight for civil rights and served as an inspiration to
millions of people around the world.

Additionally, during his term, significant progress was made on issues such as health
system reform, environmental protection, and the promotion of LGBT rights. Obama
was also a defender of multilateralism and diplomacy, which earned him the Nobel
Peace Prize in 2009, although some critics argue that this recognition was premature
and that his foreign policy was marked by military intervention in countries such as
Libya and Syria.
Obama was harshly criticized for his management of the immigration crisis, his lack
of action in the fight against climate change and his support for free trade
agreements that benefited large corporations to the detriment of workers.
Additionally, growing economic inequality during his tenure and increased
militarization of police in the United States.

Conclusion: It is difficult to classify Obama as a

hero or a villain in humanity, since his legacy is
complex and full of lights and shadows. Although it
made important progress in the fight for equality and
social justice, it also had important failures on crucial
issues such as the migration crisis and climate
change. Therefore I label him more of a hero than a
villain.
