For greater performance with less consumption. For longer service life with shorter cleaning times. And for a range of
products that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of innovative technology and versatility: cold water or hot water units,
powered by electric or combustion engine, mobile or stationary.

Compared to pressureless cleaning procedures, Kärcher high-pres-
sure cleaners offer impressive advantages in terms of economy, clean-
ing results and environmental friendliness. From reduced use of mate­
rials in production to the saving of energy, water and emissions during
operation, to lasting reparability and durability. In numerous cleaning
applications, the use of high-pressure cleaners can save up to 80 % of
precious drinking water. The powerful water jet removes dirt purely
mechanically and often obviates the need for using environment pollut-
ing chemicals. Hot water high-pressure cleaners can increase the
water temperature from about 12 °C to up to 155 °C. The use of heat
accelerates chemical processes; every 10 °C increase in temperature
doubles the reaction speed. The emulsion of oil and grease in water is
accelerated. Finally, a heated surface dries faster. The higher operation
and maintenance costs of a hot water high-pressure cleaner are more
than balanced out in use thanks to time savings of up to 40 % and
improved cleaning results. In addition, the HDS normally reduces the
need for cleaning agent. The decision is easy: HD is ideal for removing

3 Save energy and protect the environment

Kärcher’s new range of hot water high-pressure cleaners is the first in
the world to offer eco!efficiency mode. Simply put the main switch in
the blue position, and the unit switches to the most economical tem-
perature range (60 °C) while maintaining full water flow. The advan-
tage: the burner cycles are optimised and the fuel consumption (as
compared to full-load operation at 80 °C) is reduced by 20 %.

High-pressure cleaners with eco!efficiency mode.
Due to the principle they use, hot water high-pressure cleaners
require larger amounts of energy and additional cleaning agents
where appropriate for stubborn dirt. Hot water high-pressure
cleaning is, however, a highly efficient technology in comparison
with conventional cleaning. With hot water under high pressure,
cleaning results which would be inconceivable with just water,
cleaning agent and a mechanical cleaning action are achieved.
The use of heating energy is considerably outweighed by the
amount of water and cleaning agent saved. The time saved
brings another significantly higher economical effect.
The eco!efficiency mode, with reduced heating capacity, pre­
sents a considerably more favourable balance for the environ-
ment and the user. Kärcher high-pressure cleaners with
eco!efficiency mode are already available in the HDS compact
class, HDS middle class and HDS super class.
1 Efficient through and through: HDS-E 8/16-4 M
eco!efficiency
The aim of Kärcher eco!efficiency is to achieve maximum results
with the minimum possible use of resources, taking environ-
mental protection and cost reduction into account. The electri-
cally heated Kärcher HDS-E 8/16-4M eco!efficiency hot water
high-pressure cleaner with innovative, highly effective boiler in-
sulation reduces energy consumption in standby mode by up to
40 %. Aim achieved.
2 Efficiency through targeted dosing
The two-way dosage valve makes it possible to choose be-
tween two bottles with different cleaning agents. This allows an
infinitely variable and precise dosage and doubles the range.

1 HP trigger guns 4 Patented nozzle technology

Kärcher Easy Press trigger gun: optimal performance and operation.
 Easy Press: reduced holding and operating effort
 Softgrip insert: for comfort when holding the trigger gun.
 Servo Control: precise control of pressure and amount of water
– continuous while in operation.
 AVS: twist-free hoses due to pivot mounting.
Kärcher high-end hand spray gun: only minimal pressure losses even
with high amounts of water. Brass alloy for compliance with the spe-
cial requirements of the food industry.
2 HD hoses
The unique Kärcher 2000 coupling system allows hoses to be con-
nected or disconnected quickly and safely. All Kärcher high-pressure
hoses are extremely durable, e.g. the Longlife 400. Blue food-grade
hoses are resistant to animal fats.
3 Spray lances
Standard Kärcher spray lances, made from high-grade stainless steel
and available in various lengths, can be swivelled 360° while under
pressure. Ergonomically shaped grip mouldings and large manual
unions for optimal handling and insulation. Numerous spray lances for
special applications are available, such as the telescopic spray lance
or gutter cleaner.
 Manual triple nozzle: robust, durable, not sensitive to dirt.
Spray pattern selection: HP pencil jet, HP fan or LP fan.
 Touchless triple nozzle: swivelling the nozzle switches from the
HP pencil jet to the HP fan jet. Rotate further for LP fan jet.
 Dirt blaster: the rotating pencil jet combines cleaning power with
a high surface cleaning rate.
 Kärcher power nozzle: the precisely focused spray jet of large,
closely connected drops has an increased impact power of up
to 40 %.
5 HP quick-release coupling
The new Kärcher HP quick-release coupling is easy to use and ideal
for Kärcher high-pressure trigger guns, servo-control units and spray
lances. The high-pressure quick-release coupling makes changing
between different accessories quick and easy.
6 Innovative surface cleaning
The new FRV 30 surface cleaner cleans surfaces quickly without
splashing and automatically picks up the dirty water. This obviates the
need to rinse surfaces after cleaning.
7 Advanced foam systems
Kärcher has developed special foam systems for economical cleaning
and disinfection. Easy foam set: a standard solution for producing
foam. Can be used with all Kärcher HD and HDS units. Inno foam set:
double spray lance with foam nozzle and changeover to high-pres-
sure for producing very adherent cleaning and disinfection foams.
