HOW TO ANSWER MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS

 Try to work out the answer without looking at the possibilities.


 Read through the statement and all the options.
 Underline the key words in the statement.
 Cross out the options that are definitely wrong.
 Read through the statement again and select the most appropriate
option from the options remaining.
 Write down your answer and move to the next question
 Do not guess your answers, go back to the questions you were not sure
of at the end of the paper if there is time left

HOW TO ANSWER MATCHING THE COLUMNS QUESTIONS


 Read through the entire list of concepts in Column A and all the
descriptions in Column B.
 Read through each statement in Column A and find the best match in
Column B.
 Tick off the answers in Column B in pencil so that you know that one
has already been chosen
 Cross out the options that are definitely wrong.
 First do the ones you are sure of, then go back to the ones that you are
not sure of and choose an answer from the remaining options
 Do not guess your answers, go back to the questions you were not sure
of at the end of the paper if there is time left.

HOW TO ANSWER CASE STUDIES/ SCENARIOS OR DATA


RESPONSE QUESTIONS.
 Look at the heading and the scenarios to get an idea of what the case
study is about.
 Read through the scenario/statements carefully and slowly with
understanding.
 Some scenarios will have a distractor sentence or concept which is
usually in the middle.
 Sometimes the first sentence is an introductory sentence, therefore it
cannot serve as a motivation.
 Read the scenario again and underline each of the keywords that are in
line with the question asked.

Now answer the questions, pay special attention to action verbs.

Look at the mark allocation as a guide of how many facts should be
included in your answer.

1. How to write the proper introduction?


Note:
1. Write the “Introduction”
2. Your introduction must be informed by the FOUR bulleted
Questions
3. Give background by looking what is asked. Do not write what is
on the preamble/statement given.
4. Give TWO FULL meaningful sentences. (These should not be
repeated in the body)

5. How to break down the question into


headings/subheadings/interpret it correctly to show
understanding of what is being asked
Note:
1. Four bulleted questions are your heading/subheadings
2. Take out the action verb when writing headings and
subheadings

6. Learners are encouraged to write relevant facts based on the


question.

2. Action prescribed in the 2021 Examination guidelines
guide learners on what is required in a question.

7. To provide/give example per topic/subtopic: Learners must


look/find/give recent information, current trends and new
developments

8. How to write a proper conclusion?


Note:
1. Give a summative conclusion based on the question asked.
2. Give ONE full sentence on the significance/applicability/success
based on question asked.
3. Do not repeat what is on the statement, introduction or body.

9 It is advisable that essay question must be written on a new page.
