Thi s Indian Standa rd (Third Rev ision ) was adopted by Bureau o f Indi an Standards, a fter the draft finali zed by the
Bicycles Sectional Comm ittee had been approve d by the Tr an sp or t E ng ineeri ng Div is ion Council.
Th is standard was first publ ished in 1955 and subseque ntly revised in 1963 a nd 197 9. T he re vision of this
standard is being taken up to update the standard and to incor po ra te latest seat pill ar s be ing used in the bicycle
industry.
