FENCI SUMMER TEE

FENCI SUMMER TEE is knitted bottom up with a small cable pattern and bobbles in
the upper part of the front piece. The ribbing on the front and back piece are knitted
separately back and forth and then joined together. The body is knitted in the round
up to the armholes. Then the work is again divided in front and back piece. The cable
patter on the front piece is knitted according to the chart and the shoulders are
knitted together. The neck is knitted in stockinette stitch and will after the bind off roll
a little outwards.

Yarn: Fashion Silk Blend DK, Rico


45% silk, 45% cotton, 10 % polyamide 50 g = 220 m

Double pointed needles 4 mm US6 (for the sleeves)

WS = wrong side
Advice: Knit shoulders together:
Hold the needles with the sts from the back shoulder
respective the front shoulder in parallel. With WS towards
each other. You will bind off from the RS.
Bind of as follow:
Use a third needle and knit 1 st from each needle together.
Knit 2 more sts together. Slip the first st over the second st.
repeat knitting 2 together and continue to bind off until there
is 1 st left on the needles. Pull the thread through the loop.

Rib on front and back piece


row 1 WS: k1, *p2, k2*, repeat * - * until there is 1 st left, k1.
row2 RS: k1, *slip 2 st purlwise with yarn in back of work,
p2*, repeat * - * until there is 1 st left, k1.

Rib on the sleeves


rnd 1 RS: *p2, slip 2 sts purlwise with yarn in back of work*,
Repeat * - * the whole rnd.
rnd 2: * p2, k2* repeat * - * the whole rnd.

Rib back piece: CO 92 (100) 112 (120) sts with circular needles 4 mm US6
(80 cm [32”]).1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. First
row = WS.
Repeat row 1 and 2 (Advice!) for 10 cm (3.9”). End with a
row from WS. Let the back piece rest.

Rib front piece: Knit the same as the back piece.

Body: Knit the front and back piece together with stockinette stitch.
Decrease 4 (0) 4 (0) sts devided over 1th rnd = 180 (200)
220 (240) sts. PM where the rnd begin and PM (in different
color) after 90 (100) 110 (120) sts = sides of the work. Knit
stockinette stitch until the body measures 34 (35) 36 (37) cm
[ 13.4” (13.8”) 14.2” (14.6”)]. Devide the work in front and
back piece. Knit the back piece and and let the sts of the
front piece rest.

Back piece: Back piece = 90 (100) 110 (120) sts. Start to knit from RS.
BO for armhole 3, 2 (3, 2, 1) 3, 2, 2 (3, 2, 2) on each side =
80 (88) 96 (106) sts on the needles. Continue with
stockinette stitch and the 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on
each side. Knit until the armhole measures 15 (16) 17 (18)
cm [5.9” (6.3”) 6.7” (7.1”)]. Knit the shoulders. Start from RS.
k27 (k31) k34 (k38) sts, put 26 (26) 28 (30) sts for the neck
on a stitch holder. Put also the 27 (31) 34 (38) sts of the
other shoulder on a stitch holder.

Right shoulder BO 1 st for the neck from WS. Continue to knit over all the
back piece: 26 (30) 33 (37) sts until the armhole measures
17 (18) 19 (20) cm [6.7” (7.1) 7.5” (7.9”)]. Put the sts on a
stitch holder.

Left shoulder BO 1 st for the neck from RS. Knit as right shoulder
back piece: back piece.

Front piece: The front piece has 90 (100) 110 (120) sts. Start from RS
and BO for the armholes. 3, 2 (3, 2, 1) 3, 2, 2 (3, 2, 2) sts in
each side = 80 (88) 96 (106) sts on the needles. Knit 1 edge
stitch in garter stitch on each side. Now put M on each side
of the 72 sts in the middle of the front piece (in all sizes).
You will knit the pattern from the chart over those sts.
Repeat the 24 sts from the chart three times and the 16 rows
2 times. Knit row 1 one more time. (=end of pattern). Start
from WS and knit 3 rows stockinette stitch over all sts. k30
(k33) k36 (k40) sts. Put 20 (22) 24 (26) sts on a stitch holder
for the neck. Put also the 30 (33) 36 (40) sts of the other
shoulder on a stitch holder.

Left shoulder BO for the neck 2, 2 (2, 1) 2, 1 (2, 1) sts from WS. Continue
Front piece: to knit over all the 26 (30) 33 (37) sts until the armhole
measures17 (18) 19 (20) cm [6.7” (7.1) 7.5” (7.9”)]. Put the
sts on a stitch holder.

Right shoulder BO 1 st for the neck from RS. Knit as left shoulder
front piece: front piece.

Knit shoulders
together: See advice!!!

Neck: Pick up 90 (96 100 (106) sts around the neck with circular
needles 4 mm US6. The sts from the stitch holders
inclouded. Knit 10 rnds stockinette stitch. BO. Be careful not
to BO to tight. Change to larger needles if necessary.

Sleeve:
Pick up 72 (76) 80 (84) sts with circular needles 4 mm US6
(40 cm [16”] around the armhole (even if you prefer to knit
the sleeve with double pointed needles is it easier to pick up
the sts with circular needles and transfer them over to the
double pointed needles). Knit stockinette stitch until the
sleeve measures 9 (10) 10 (11) cm [3.5” (3.9”) 3.9” (4.3”)].
Knit the rib (see advice) until it measures 7 cm [2.8”]. Finish
the sleeve with rnd 2 and BO. Knit the other sleeve.

Weave in the ends.
