Instructions
Cast on 76 stitches
Join in the round, knitting the first and last stitch together
Knit 5 cm (2 ins) in stockingette – knit every round.
Commence heart motifs - 5 all around hat.

Round 1: (k7, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k6) repeat 4 times.

Round 2: knit
Round 3: (k5, k2tog, yo, k, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k5) repeat 4 times.
Round 4: knit
Round 5: (k4, k2tog, yo, k3, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k4) repeat 4 times.
Round 6: knit
Round 7: (k3, k2tog, yo, k5, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k3) repeat 4 times.
Round 8: knit
Round 9: (k2, k2tog, yo, k7, yo, sl1, k1, psso, k2) repeat 4 times.
Round 10: knit

Shape Crown
(K2 tog, knit 15) repeat 4 times
(K2 tog, knit 14) repeat 4 times
(k2 tog, knit 13) repeat 4 times
Continue with this pattern until 10 stitches remain, break yarn leaving 30cm (10ins) tail.
Thread a tapestry needle, and take stitches off the needle on to the tapestry needle
Thread the needle through the stitches again, and pull together
Leave tail to sew on pompom
Make a pompom, trim to size desired, and sew on top of hat
Sew in ends
