Local Leadership Development Seminar 2011

This year, our annual Local Leadership Development Seminar (LLDS) was held at St Anne, Bukit Mertajam, Penang from 26th October to 28th October 2011. The objective of this event is for everyone to understand in details on AIESEC while developing their leadership potential. Throughout these three days, delegates were equipped with practical skills and knowledge on AIESEC and how our personal goals align to AIESEC. Everyone was given the opportunity to explore and develop themselves in LLDS. On the 1st day of the conference, the superheroes facilitators were introduced to us and they were the great heroes which had guided us throughout the days. After everyone was grouped up into several teams, we played team building games together and everyone was fully participating in everything. Later on, delegates were exposed to the importance of 1st impression and the effectiveness of time management. By the way, personal development is an important for an AIESECer and we had the lesson of Who Am I for everyone to understand themselves better. During the night, the alumni of AIESEC in UUM were back! An awesome sharing session by the alumni about their great past experience. On the 2nd day, two simulations were done successfully which are Cross Cultural Simulation and Exchange Simulation which simulate on how AIESEC works in an organization. Besides that, there were also two sessions on skills development which are You are Creative! and Marketing + Negotiation. After the session on My Life Curve under the personal development.

Volume 3 | Issue 5 On the last day of the conference, we were taught about the differences between leadership and followers. After I had joined the conference, I was inspired and started to think how I should continue my AIESEC journey. Lastly, we work all day, party all night!

Hey AIESEC! Say Hello to the interns! AIESEC UUM is proudly to announce that there are 14 interns from all around the world , such as Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritius, Russia, New Zealand, and Netherlands. These awesome interns come to our Projects Based on eXchange (PBoX) which are the Cultural Understanding Through Exchange (C.U.T.E.), RED Wave Initiative and Tre3 Branch. Beside that, Tre3 Branch was just having their first ever interns for this project! Furthermore, they would be conducting and running these three projects for the duration of 5 weeks in UUM. We AIESECers from UUM welcome you and wish all of you would enjoy your internship while in Universiti Utara Malaysia!

Penang Career & Postgraduate Expo 2011

10th Penang Career & Postgraduate Expo was held at Penang International Sports Arena (PISA) on 12th-13th November 2011. We are honored to have YB.Tuan Koay Teng Hai, Penang State Assembly Man, representing YB. Tuan Abdul Malik Bin Abul Kassim, Ahli Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang to grace the Opening Ceremony on 12th Nov 2011, Saturday. This year we had an encouraging response from visitors and exhibitors, with 26,746 visitors, 86 organizations and 121 exhibition booths. Visitors from all over Malaysia felt thankful for being provided an opportunity for them to meet with prospective employers. Many job seekers have been interviewed on-the-spot, and we are also pleased to know that the exhibitors received hundreds and thousands of resumes which will keep them busy screening the prospective applicants. Many of the visitors had the opportunity to meet up with premier institutions of tertiary education and have a better knowledge of various postgraduate programs and professional courses being offered by the respective colleges and universities. AIESEC in Universiti Utara Malaysia has been partners with PenExpo for over 8 years in running this project hand in hand as we believe in the impact that this expo may have on the youths of Malaysia.

AIESEC AIDS in Action AIESEC AIDS in Action is a campaign organized by AIESEC in Malaysia and implemented by RED Wave Initiative project from Universiti Utara Malaysia. With the theme Getting to Zero, AIESEC AIDS in Action would serve as a campaign to create the awareness of HIV/AIDS among the students and staffs.
