When | was in 3rd grade, my teacher wrote in my year-end report card, “Teresa, | hope you have a real nice summer. I bet you will do a lot of drawing under a shade tree. Maybe some day you will be a famous artist and Ill be able to buy your drawings” Little did Mrs. Garnsey know (or did I know at the time) that | would build a career as an artist in the future. I attended a local community college & earned an associates in fine art, however, my love for the primitive style of early American folk art & mixed-media acrylics has become the focal point of my art. began licensing my art in 1996. You can find my watercolor and acrylic paintings on such pro- ducts as ceramic dinnerware, figurines, gift bags & boxes, calendars, quilting fabric, greeting cards, rugs, wall decor and more. In 2004, while attending the spring quilt market, I stumbled upon a booth selling punchneedle ‘embroidery patterns. [ fell in love instantly as they reminded me of mini hooked rugs. As soon as I returned home from the show | purchased all the materials needed to create punchneedle and started translating my paintings into patterns (which also led me to creating hook/punch Tug patterns). | attended my first needlearts trade show in 2005 to sell my punchneedle & rug patterns to needleart shops & quilt shops across the nation. In February, 2011, while attending the Nashville needlearts market, many shop owners would comment that they loved my designs but they mostly carry cross stitch patterns. Finally in 2013 Treleased my first cross stitch patterns..thanks to the help of some wonderful model stitchers. Thope you enjoy stitching my patterns as much as I enjoy designing them! We have several garden beds surrounding our home in Michigan. Kevin and I enjoy working in the gardens together. My favorite reward is the color of the flowers. I always think...Only God can paint with such vibrant colors. The phrase “thy senses will be overjoyed” is how I feel when walking through a garden. Whether it’s a flower garden or a, food garden, I find joy in seeing the beauty, smelling the flowers or ripeness of the fruits and vegetables, touching the dirt or soft leaves and petals, hearing the birds sing and the bees buzz and finally, tasting the sweet prize of our labors. SSSSSSSESHSHESSEKS SRS SHS HS Karen Simmons of Ohio did an amazing job stitching the model and Paula Fruth of Craft Gallery in Findlay Ohio beautifully framed it. Thank you ladies! This sampler was released March 2021 at the first ever Needlework Expo hosted by Janis of Noteworthy Needle.
