tionalists are not only a dom-
inant social force, but also a
dominant political force in
the country today, a senior
RSS leader told an interna-
tional gathering of conserva-
tives on Tuesday that the left
liberals in India have been
cornered from all sides and
are in deep distress.
"After we secured the ab-
solute political mandate
10 years ago, we used this
conservative consensus to
take back everything that
the Nehruvian liberals took
away from us several de-
cades ago," Ram Madhav
said in his address to the
National Conservatism con-
ference being held here in
the American capital.
"We ended socialist pro-
tectionism and promoted
a free-market economy. Of
course, in the last 20 years, I
am not just saying 10 years.
From the 11th position a
decade ago, today, India is
catapulted into the fifth or
fourth-largest economy in
the world.
"We reclaimed our uni-
versities and academic
bodies. We took back the
media space. And we re-
cently launched a new edu-
cation policy to rebuild our

ing to your country, they are
coming to your universities,
they are coming to your me-
ity of the party’s MLAs, deal-

rainfall, Delhi hopes to implement

Official sources said the final
draft was ready and awaiting ap-
proval from the city government’s
environment minister before
being sent to the Union environ-
ment ministry. Delhi was heavily
impacted by extreme weather
this year. The national capital
recorded 40 consecutive days
of temperatures above 40 de-
grees Celsius since May 13, with
Mungeshpur and Narela reaching
49.9 degrees in late May.
The intense heat contributed to
60 deaths in the city. On the other

claimed 11 lives and caused sig-

velop their own State Action Plans
on Climate Change (SAPCC) in
alignment with national strate-
gies.
Delhi’s previous climate action
plan for the 2010-2020 period,
finalised wwin 2019 after a sev-
en-year stakeholder consultation,
is now outdated. Work on a new
plan began in 2021, with the first
draft completed in 2022. It took
around two years to finalise the
consultations and fine-tune the
plan, sources told news agency.
The state-level steering commit-
tee, chaired by the chief secretary,
discussed the final draft in two
meetings in May and June. “The
new SAPCC draft has been sent
to the Delhi environment minis-
ter for approval. Once approved,
it will be forwarded to the Union
environment ministry.
The environment depart-
ment, the nodal agency for
the plan, is optimistic about
implementing the plan this
year,” a source said. The
previous plan focused on
six key areas -- energy,
transport, green cover, ur-
ban development, and pro-
jected changes in weather
patterns. The new SAPCC
incorporates an analysis
of extreme weather events
over the past decade and

NEW DELHI: Delhi Health Min-
ister Saurabh Bharadwaj on
Monday ordered an intensive
fogging and sanitation exercise,
hospital visits to assess avail-
ability of medicines and other
arrangements, and running
awareness campaigns to pre-
vent any dengue outbreak this
year. Bharadwaj chaired a high-
level meeting with senior med-
ical officers of Delhi govern-
ment-run hospitals and health
department officials to review
preparedness for dengue man-
agement.
The minister directed the
medical officers for immediate
examination of people arriving
with symptoms of dengue and
their proper treatment, if found
positive. Dengue is caused by

Court has indicated the pos-
sibility of ordering a re-test if
the entirety of the process is
affected. During Monday’s

The NEET-UG 2024 exam,
which was taken by 23.33
lakh students at 4,750 cen-
tres in 571 cities, including
14 overseas, could be af-
fected significantly if the
leak is widespread.
“If the breach was con-
fined to specific areas and it
was possible to identify the
wrongdoers, then it may not
be appropriate to order for a
tigating officer. Justice Oka,
pronouncing the verdict, stat-
ed: “There cannot be a bail
condition defeating the very
objective of bail itself.
We have said Google pin
cannot be a bail condition.
There can’t be a bail condi-
tion enabling the police to
constantly track the move-
ment of the accused. Police
cannot be allowed to peep
state in January 2024.
During his visit, Rahul
Gandhi requested Prime
Minister Narendra Modi to

olence in the state. Gandhi
also stated that Congress
would do everything possible
to bring peace to Manipur.
“The tragedy in Manipur is
immense,” the Raebareli
MP told a press conference.

comfort,” Gandhi said. “We
will do everything we can to
retest in an examination of
such a massive scale,” the
court noted.
It also mentioned the
need to scrutinise whether
the breach was systemic
and whether the integrity
of the entire exam process
was compromised.
The bench directed the in-
vestigating officer of the CBI
to submit a report on the
status of the investigation,
which includes allegations
of malpractices, OMR sheet
manipulation, imperson-
ation, and cheating.
The NTA was also instruct-
ed to provide details on the
steps taken to identify the
beneficiaries of the leak and
the centres and cities where
the breach occurred.
The court highlighted the
challenges of conducting a
retest for over 23 lakh can-
didates, stressing the need
to understand the nature of

NEETUG, the court suggest-
ed that the government
consider forming a multidis-
ciplinary team of experts to
prevent future breaches.
It acknowledged the red
flags raised by the fact that
67 candidates scored a per-
fect 720 out of 720, a signif-
icant deviation from previ-
ous years.
The court is scheduled to
hear over 30 related pleas
on July 11, which include
allegations of irregularities
and demands for a re-test.
The Centre and the NTA,
in their affidavits, argued
that scrapping the exam
would be “counterproduc-
tive” and detrimental to the
interests of the many hon-
est candidates, citing a lack
of evidence for a large-scale
breach of confidentiality.

al procedures since coming
to power in 2019. During his
address, Soren criticised the
BJP, stating: “One could see
the conduct of BJP legisla-
tors after seeing me again.
