ered.
There can be no doubt that the quality of JOSPT was one of Dr. Di Fabio’s highest priorities
as editor-in-chief, and that he did indeed elevate the quality of the Journal. As evidence of
this we need only review the 2001 Journal Citation Reports from the Institute for Scientific
Information. In 2001 the Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy was ranked number 1
of 21 rehabilitation journals, number 6 of 39 orthopaedic journals, and number 9 of 61
sport science journals worldwide. Each of these rankings was a dramatic improvement over
rankings in years before Dr. Di Fabio’s tenure, and they improved with each year under his
leadership. These data serve as convincing evidence that JOSPT grew in both recognition and
prominence under his editorship.
Dr. Di Fabio, all of us in orthopaedics and in sports owe you a debt of gratitude for your
hard work and outstanding achievements as editor-in-chief for JOSPT. On behalf of us all, let
me say, ‘‘Many thanks for a job well done!’’
