The accurate price index is consider essential for development planning, for feasibility studies of investment projects, and for measuring the current changes in the contemporary changing world. Central Ageney for Public Mobilization and statistics (CAPMAS) has organized to publishing “Producer Price Index” (PPI) in ARE to replace to “Wholesale Price Index” (WPI) including the producer price index according to the economic activity, End use and Stage of processing. CAPMAS publishes this bulletin for the first time beginning from September 2007 with base period (2004/2005) for helping researchers and the stakeholders in this field. The index is first calculated at the 6- digit level of [SIC Rey. IV. Indices at higher level divisions are then derived as a weighted average of the products falling within each division. Finally, the overall index is obtained as a weighted average of each activity. The formula for the calculation of Egypt's Producer Price Index PPI is the modified Laspeyres formula. This Computation is Based on the short term basis, thus cach month’s price is compared to the previous month’s price. ©The PPI is not compiled according to a true laspeyres index because the period for the weight reference period , which was based on the average of data collected in 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 of all production sectors surveys is not the same as that of the price reference period (2004/2005). The formula is as follows rice Of the pervious period P° = the average price of the base period (2004/2005) W!! = the previous period weight W" = the base weight derived from the average value of the wo years (2002/2003 , 2003/2004) Aasdewadl Antal 5 Aeeall 4 ples Gantt a pall BY Ss slg ghee le SU Luall fag coe Ral al staal gale) LUM pe al he penal GeO Sy pine Ge tha JS ee Le os GLE BS wet she pene ISS 5 4 Mall Cistiall Fa 6 pL all 8 le oy lg pail LLG USI a ye eM fh ne pb aa ll PK pall ee seen Grail GLY (geal gall Ay yhy Ae pas dee set US eel be es Cal 43 GAM yp ttl leaky ale td patil GLY atl ob | te Se ALY) pV ee GL ASA Nig lead em pall cll th ML Lt a EUS ISS Ag es Ne peal doll ke eS ytd cL Sle ge Spal Qe (Vette ek co Peatiteety LN ts I et ll o/ts et) X'S (9) a= ta *€ M5 (Te eet) uae feud Daeg =e WAN & sal w=" (5) et Eales Ge eA LMI O53 = (4) (Yen tteea eeh het) ce 10- Periodicity: a- Calculation Periodicity Producer price index is calculated monthly. b- Publication Periodicity The publication of the bulletin is bimonthly ( January / March / May / July / September / November). In addition to the current month , the bulletin includes: (1) The previous month (2) The same month in the previous year (3)Percent changes from these months to make the comparison more easy. 11- Data availability : Available in hard copy , CD and also published on CAPMAS web site Hay gall V6 ihuall ay 93 Uae Wendt OAS gull oN aN Ag PRE) pt) aed I Omeliy (eed / ee / at / gee GH SLAYU UGG 23 Jy Janey see! ed Ghat etl) Sika al oe sell (7) Aged alldy gpl ade Oe pach ui(T) axel Gay 4s fall peel Hat 59-19 shu ob us eg ae Gyal Ge 9 ob US (CD) Saas ee cereal plas Katall oiB, 91 323 WW Ol opal TeV ee tt oF EE LON apd Let eT py et ge PERL lll oul BH Gb Tye iF ely TN pps 25 ipa Coll cus lh Sireny Jeeta bead gust Sg Lose Re candy TU heey Set 5 LEN ee Ng ZL 4 lg all de ly ied!
