Notes
-you can use any type of yarn you’d like, it will just change the size of the
finished project, for this i will be using worsted weight
-Always use a stitch marker
-Leave enough yarn when fastening off for sewing onto the body
-If using suggested materials your bat will be 6 inches tall, 10 inches wide
Materials
-yarn
-polyfil stuffing
-3.5mm crochet hook (or any size you are comfortable using)
-15mm safety eyes (or crocheted eyes, you can find lots of good patterns on
pinterest)
-yarn needle
Terminology
-st(s): Stitches(es)
-sc: single crochet
-dc: double crochet
-inc: 2 stitches in one stitch
-dec: grab the front loop of the next 2 stitches, yarn over and pull through 2
loops, yarn over and pull through remaining loops
-MR: Magic ring
-Ch: Chain
-Picot: Chain 3, slip stitch into the first chain
-RD: Round
Ears (make 2)
1. 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
2. Sc in each stitch (6)
3. (sc, inc) x3 (9)
4. Sc in each stitch (9)
5. (2sc, inc) x3 (12)
6. (3sc, inc) x3 (15)
7. (4sc, inc) x3 (18)
8. (5sc, inc)x3 (21)
9. 5sc, dec x5, 6sc (16)
10. 5sc, dec x3, 5sc (13)

*do not stuff ear*
*fold bottom of ear in half and sew together, be sure to fold ears in
opposite direction so they are facing the right way when you sew
them on*
*sew ears onto head between rows 5 and 10*

Wings (make 2)
*starting chain 3 counts as first dc*
1. Starting with a magic ring chain 3(where you would usually
just chain 1) (this counts as your first dc) , 15dc, slip stitch
into the 3rd chain (16)
3. Chain 3, dc in the same chain 3 space, (2dc, inc) x7, 2 dc, slip
stitch into the 3rd chain (32)
4. Chain 3, dc in the same chain 3 space, (3dc, inc) x7 3dc, slip
stitch into the 3rd chain (40)
5. Chain 3, dc in the same chain 3 space (4dc, inc) x7, 4dc, slip
stitch into the 3rd chain (48)
*fold circle in half*
*now working through both stitches of the circle*
6. Chain 3, dc, picot, 2 dc (all in the same stitch)
(4 dc (2dc,picot,2dc)) x3 8 dc
(you should have 4 picots, 36 dc including chain 3)
*fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing*
*sew onto back of bat*
