found out that only the operating system was installed and he wished to add more

and abstractions about the Internet - is a worldwide telecommunications system that provides
lesson (ABSTRACTION) connectivity for millions of other, smaller networks that allows computer
users to communicate with each other across distance in computer
platforms through unique identification numbers called Internet Protocol
Addresses (IP addresses).
Hypertext - is text displayed on a computer display or other electronic
devices with references (hyperlinks) to other text that the reader can
immediately access.
Software - Programs and other operating information used by a computer.
Hyperlink - A reference to data that the user can follow by clicking or
tapping.
Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) - The foundation of data
communication for the World Wide Web, where hypertext documents
include hyperlinks to other resources that the user can easily
access.
Internet Protocol - A numerical label assigned to each device connected
to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication.

Three (3) basic requirements to connect to the Internet:

1. World Wide Web (www) - is a way to access the information on the


Internet. It’s like the software you need to run programs on the hardware of
your computer which combine of all resources and users on the Internet
that are using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP).
2. Internet Service Provider (ISP) - are companies that connect you to the
Internet – for a fee. Eg. PLDT, Globe and SMART Telecompanies.
3. Web Browser - is a software to be installed on your computer that
allows you to view web pages and navigate the Internet. Microsoft’s
Internet Explorer is probably the most commonly used web browser. It
often comes pre-installed when you purchase a computer that has a
Microsoft Windows operating system. There are other free web browsers
available, including Mozilla’s very popular Firefox web browser, Google
Chrome and Apple’s Safari. You can have more than one browser installed
on your computer.
The following are the most commonly used web browsers with its
designated logo.
