Writing for both of these independently-run music magazines as part of the BU London Internship Program; Interviewing bands to write features and profiles; Reviewing albums, demos, video games, comics, zines, and books; Transcribing interviews and any other tasks requested by editor Eugene Butcher. Video interviews and reviews are published online at the Big Cheese website, while written work is published in print in Big Cheese and Vive le Rock. After my time abroad I was asked to continue writing for the magazine from Boston, MA. Interviews include D.R.U.G.S., Sum 41, Flogging Molly, New Found Glory, and others.

With Back Bay as my beat, I write profiles and features with a focus on local music including musicians, events at Berklee College of Music, local record stores, and event or benefit concerts.

Assisting the head of the Journalism Department in the College of Communication at BU; Sending out weekly department newsletters via email to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as department faculty, about upcoming events and possible career opportunities for students. My employment at the department was on hiatus for each summer as well as my semester abroad.

Partnering with the Your Town website, run by the Boston Globe, as part of a News Writing and Reporting class at Boston University. Our class was among the first at BU to develop this partnership, which includes active reporting, research and interviewing for my beat, the Back Bay neighborhood. Select stories are published on the Your Town site. This partnership continues with my current journalism courses if professors see my story fit for online publication on Boston.com.

Writing short pieces about Boston culture (restaurants, musicians, shops, etc.) for this new website created by former Boston Magazine editor Jon Marcus; Working closely with the sites music editor Jeff Wallace and traveling to various sites and events to review and promote various local bands, venues and concerts. Work is published on the online.
