The genre of music I am looking to base my magazine on is R&B/HipHop.

General background information about vibe from Wikipedia which I felt were important for this task: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vibe_ (magazine) Vibe is a music and entertainment magazine founded by producer Quincy Jones. The publication predominantly features R&B and hiphop music artists, actors and other entertainers. After shutting down production in summer 2009, Vibe was purchased by the private equity investment fund InterMedia Partners and is now issued quarterly with double covers, with a larger online presence, aided by the Vibe LifeStyle Network, a group of entertainment/music websites under the Vibe brand. The magazine's target demographic is predominantly young, urban followers of hip-hop culture.

Jermaine Miller History Quincy Jones launched Vibe in 1993. Miller Publishing bought Vibe in 1996, and shortly afterward bought Spin. The private equity group The Wicks Group of Companies bought the magazine in 2006. On June 30, 2009, it was announced that Vibe was shutting its doors and ceasing publication immediately, although according to Essence, Quincy Jones has stated he would like to keep it alive online. Vibe Magazine was known for the creative direction of their covers. Trio, TLC were photographed for the cover in firefighters' gear, referencing the fact that member Left Eye burned down the house of then-boyfriend and NFL star Andre Rison. The first nonphotograph cover of Vibe was an illustration of late singer Aaliyah by well known artist/illustrator Alvaro; this was Aaliyah's very first appearance on the cover as well. Other famous cover subjects are Brandy, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, Beyonc, Amerie, Jennifer Lopez, Keyshia Cole, Janet Jackson, Lil Wayne, The Fugees, Eminem, T.I., R. Kelly, Michael Jackson; All of these artists are involved in the music genre of either Rnb or Hip-Hop.

Jermaine Miller Content Featured segments included the back page list 20 Questions, the Boomshots column about reggae and Caribbean music by Rob Kenner, Revolutions music reviews and Vibe Confidential, a celebrity gossip column. Next profiled up-and-coming artists. The magazine also devoted several pages to photo spreads displaying high-end designer clothing as well as sportswear by urban labels such as Rocawear and Fubu. Vibe made a consistent effort to feature models of all ethnicities in these pages. Former editor Emil Wilbikin was frequently credited with styling those pages and keeping fashion in the forefront of the magazine's identity during the early 2000s. Many clothing brands created or linked to hip-hop celebrities, such as Sean Combs' Sean John, Nelly's Apple Bottoms and G-Unit by 50 Cent found plenty of exposure in Vibe's pages. It also contained "The Vibe 100: The Juiciest People, Places and Things of the Year." It maintains several internationally recognized music charts that track the most popular songs and albums in various categories on a weekly basis. The two most notable charts are the Billboard Hot 100, which ranks the top 100 songs regardless of genre and is based on physical sales, digital sales and radio airplay; and the Billboard 200, the corresponding chart for album sales. History Billboard was founded in Cincinnati on November 1, 1894, by William h. Donaldson and James Hennegan. Within a few years of its founding, it began to carry news of outdoor amusements, a major consumer of billboard space. Eventually Billboard became the paper of record for circuses, carnivals, amusement parks, fairs, vaudeville, minstrels, whale shows and other live entertainment. The magazine as I have proved by the 6 covers they include people from all different genre of music. However they are all people that have been high up in the chart music, they are also well known in the music industry with Billboards target audience. Billboard describes its readers as unique, also describing the people on the magazine front covers as unique. Such people as Rihanna, Beyonce and Adele have had over 17 number ones between them, proving that Billboard is a chart based magazine.

Most of bill boards covers feature artists from the genre: R&B, Pop or Hip-Hop mainly based around the urban society. There house style is very colourful and the backgrounds are most of the time one colour.

The types of genres it covers is RnB, country, rock, latin, pup, dance and Hip Hop and uncharted music. It includes the latest music news and new track/mixtape/album releases.
