Martinis
Cocktails
The origin of the classic Martini is disputed and shrouded in mystery. The truth is that no one knows where the Martini was created, although it probably evolved from the Manhattan, initially into the Martinez and later into the Martini. Served with either Gin or Vodka
Long before the Martini, the V-shaped glass and the cocktail shaker, the drink of choice at society gatherings was punch and the punch bowl was the centre of activity at every party. The name derives from the Hindi word for five, panch, and refers to the five key ingredients: alcohol, citrus, sugar, water and spices.

Mojitos
10.75
Between the wars, and especially during Prohibition, Cuba had a thriving international bar culture. In fact, when Prohibition was announced, numerous companies outfitted ferries for the overnight booze cruise to the island. At the heart of this bar culture were Cubas bartenders. The Mojito is a classic, long blend of rum, lime and mint and was probably invented after the Americans introduced the locals to the Mint Julep. Bodeguita del Medio is usually credited with the first Mojito and this is apparently where Hemingway went for his.

Cocktails
Cocktails
The original Bellini was created by Giuseppe Cipriani at Harrys Bar, Venice, in 1945. The recipe hasnt changed; then it consisted of pureed white peaches with added sugar and lemon juice mixed with Prosecco sparkling wine. As white peaches arent in season all year round, many recipes have been adapted
The cocktails creation is credited to a bartender called Martin Cuneo at the Pendennis Club in Louisville, Kentucky. USA. He is said to have made the drink for a Kentucky Colonel (and bourbon distiller) named James E. Pepper sometime between 1889 and 1895.

Pronounced Kie-Pur-Reen-Yah, the name of this traditional Brazilian cocktail means little countryside drink. It is made by muddling green limes with sugar and cachaa
Sours are aptly named drinks. Their flavour comes from either lemon or lime juice, which is balanced with sugar. Sours can be based on practically any spirit but the bourbon based Whiskey Sour is by far the most popular.

Pronounced Dye-Ker-Ree, this drink is thought to have been created by Jennings Cox, an American who was working at a copper mine near Santiago, Cuba, in 1896. The drink originated from ingredients that Cox had to hand; rum, lime and sugar. The combination worked and the drink was named Daiquiri after the nearby port.
