2: Own Proiects

2.1: Hospital Information Management System Intelligent Humidity Control System Hopping Robot Balancing System Temperature Control System E-business website 2.2: Hospital Information Management System is a system that can manage the data in the hospital and based on Oracle Database. As we know, each project has a life-cycle which consists of initiation, planning, implementation, and termination. The initiation of this project is to build a system using Oracle database. Data from doctors, nurses, patients, medicines, and wards can be managed easily and automatically through this system. I did this project by myself and lots of preparations had been done before implementation because Oracle database is a professional database and different from others. It was a situation that no one could help me when I went to a professional field where no one had been there before. For planning this project, firstly, I had to have an insight on the logic for the data in hospital. Then because my teacher was not good at Oracle database I had to borrow some book from the library of my university and learnt it myself. Finally, I would certify whether it can be used in our real life. After planning, there came to implementation. Timetable was essential and before other works can be done I had to make a topology graph for different data and in order to do it correctly I went to a hospital to do a survey. After the survey I had a brief understand of logic for the data. Next I started to learn how to build Oracle database by books and internet. It was a hard time for me to build it not only because I do everything by myself but also it related to knowledge from different field for example coding, designing, user interface, networks, and web servers. It took me about 3 months to finish this project and then I give it to a hospital testing and improving it. The termination of this project was that the system I made works good in our real life and it was a great facility in hospital for both staffs and patients. From my point of view, although I did this project by myself, I would say that the maturity level is managed. In this level project risks are known quantitatively and work breakdown structure is realistic. If work with teams, knowledge is acquired, shared and maintained and the result of the project can be forecasted. Money-time-results triangle is considered a good way to evaluate the quality of the project. More costs or more time will decrease the quality of the result. For my project of Oracle database, because it was a task in one of my course so there was no money for me to use and the only limitation was time. I spent around 3 months in this project and finished it before the time arranged. The quality of the result should be good in this project.

3: Project Management and Team Work

3.1: I would like to be a project manager. As it said in slide that manager like communicator, planner, organizer, controller, observator, team leader, coach, and expert. That means a project manager needs comprehensive abilities in different aspects. In my opinion, being a project manager are both challenging and interesting. Project manager is always the person who is responsible for the whole project. I would like to be a manager because I dislike to do the same work again and again or the work that manager force me to finish. I love challenges and I have good communication skills, organizing skills, and technical skills, which are all needed for a project manager. By contrast, I am not very good at leadership and team building which both are also very important skills for a project manager. Leadership could control the whole team doing the project with the same purpose and team building can make a team competitive among others.
