Teacher: Dora LaCasse Class/Grade:8th grade Spanish Unit Theme: This is a weeklong unit on food and restaurants integrating

technology. Each day will focus on a different aspect of this subject, and will culminate in a formal assessment. Monday will be an introduction to food vocabulary and consequent practice of this vocabulary. Tuesday, students will learn 3 verbs connected to the subject of food. Its important to incorporate verb conjugation into every unit, because it is a skill that takes a long time to master and students need as much practice as possible. Wednesday, students will be asked to practice an apply the words/verbs they have been learning in conversations with other classmates. Thursday, students will need to apply this knowledge in a different, way, my making restaurant menus. This activity is useful for several reasons. Students use technology to create a product, they much apply their knowledge to create a product in the target language, and they must recognize the cultural differences in foods that are common in different countries. Friday is the culmination of this unit. Students must present their menus, review all that they have learned, and take the assessment.
