SummerART Camp provides four two-week sessions of thematic programming during which children will work in mediums such as drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, collage, and printmaking. Visits to the museums galleries are included to enrich the childs knowledge of fine arts. In addition to making art every day, children are encouraged to interact, talk, and learn about the history of art, its role in society, and how it affects our daily lives. Each session concludes with a student exhibition in mAms Leir Hall and the Yard School of Art Arcade. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.
Children are grouped in age-specific classes (5 7, 8 and 9, and 10 12). Children ages 5 to 7 may participate in our Morning Program from 9:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. or our Afternoon Program from 3 5 p.m. Children ages 8 to 12 may choose any one of our programs. Classes are limited to 15 children and projects are never repeated. Each session includes afternoon elective options from 3 5 p.m. for children ages 8 12. Students can register for an elective only, or as part of a full-day program.
