Ben S. Stefanski II Stadium Dedication Ceremony Set for 3:30 PM Today

An estimated crowd of five hundred alumni, staff, parents, and students attended the first football game in Stefanski Stadium, our home field. The crowd came to show off school spirit and to see the new field. Many of the students from all classes of Central Catholic were there to show their support. I asked Tyler Stewart 11 what the field means to CCC and he said: It brings life to the school and the team. It brings everyone together; it is a fun happy environment. The field was definitely worth the wait. Alumnus Charles CaraballoScott10 said: Its just incredible to see all these people come to show support. I wish I would have one more year just to be able to play on this field and in front of friends and family. The kids that did have this opportunity should feel really lucky. Players on this years football squad were just as excited as the faculty and student body. Jonathan Ballom 11 had this to say: I was excited and thankful so many people showed up to cheer us SEE Home of Their Own Page 2

Burks told us the importance and the mission of the Blue Angels saying that their role specifically to raise morale around the country and to help recruit people into the Navy or Marine Corps. Maj. Burks told us that while with the Blue Angels he is away from his wife and children three hundred days out of the year. He also told us about his past tours of duty overseas and how in only a few more months he was going back to help fight the war on terrorism. After we had asked some personal questions we got back to the topic of the Blue Angels and the military. The major said that while looking for a career in college he became confused and was unable to find out what he wanted to do. He enlisted into the Marine Corps and after serving his first enlistment period (which is four years) he was able to go back to college where he decided to go through flight training but still staying in the Marines.
