Writing Tips
Thesis? Every papers 1st paragraph should contain a thesis statement (organizing principle) and every paper should end with a closing paragraph (usu. summarizing the argument in support of the thesis). In between, you should present appropriate background material, and a logical, coherent argument in favor of your thesis statement. See http://www.studygs.net/index.htm for helpful material about writing. Be wary of plagiarism. Make use of UMKCs Writing Center (even if only to have another good writer proof read your paper).
Plagiarism
See http://www.studygs.net/plagiarism.htm for a working definition of plagiarism and how to avoid it. Either paraphrase & provide a citation or quote & provide a citation. These are the only correct options! Anything else is plagiarism.
