1.Asasafetyprecaution,disconnectbatterygroundcable.Youwillneedablockandtransmissionassemblyfor thisinstallation.Motorandtransmountsneedtobeinstalledatthesametimetoensureproperalignment. 2.Attachtheblockbrackettotheengineblockusingthe(6)3/8"NCboltsandlockwashers.Thedirectionofthe arrowonthispiecedenoteswhichpositionyourmountwillbein. 2a.HAVINGTHEARROWPOINTINGTOWARDSTHEFRONTOFTHECARISTHE3/4" FORWARDPOSITION.POINTINGTOWARDSTHEREAROFTHECARISSTOCKLOCATION. 3.Boltuptheportionthatwillweldtotheframeusing(2)7/16"x5"longboltsandnutsspunonfingertight.Straight nutshavebeenprovidedformockuppurposes.PleaseuseprovidedNylocknutsforfinalassembly. 4.Thefrontlegoftheweldonbracketshouldlayagainstthetopradiusofthefrontcrossmemberasshownonnext page.Therearlegwillrestalongtheinneredgeofthesamecrossmember.Insomecases,minorgrindingofthese twolegswillbringthefittighter,andshouldbedonecarefullywhennecessary.Also,slightlyadjustingthelocation oftheengineand/ortransmissionusuallyhelps.Usealevelandtapemeasuretobesuretheengineiscentered andlevelwiththeframe. 5.ChoosingtheforwardpositionallowsforHEIdistributorstoclearthefirewallnicely,andbigblockinstallations definitelyneedtheheadtofirewallclearance.Insomeinstances,oilpanandsumpmodificationmaybenecessary. Whenusingtheforwardposition,planyourdriveshaftlengthaccordingly. 6.TheweldonbracketWillNotbeaffectedbythechoiceofstockor3/4forward.Youcanfreelyswitchbetween thetwo,firewallandotherclearancespermitting. 7.Mockupasmuchofthesteeringsystem(manualor500powersteeringbox,etc.)andheaders aspossiblewhenpositioningtheengineandtransassembly.Theslottedholesintheblockbracketwillallowfor adjustmentfromsidetosideforadditionalclearancewhereneededforheadersandsteeringbox. 8.Allfuelandbrakelinesshouldbeclearedoutofthewayatthispointifyouhavenotalreadydoneso. Withengineandtransassemblyaligned,begintheweldingprocessbytackweldingthreeorfourplaces ofbothmountstotheframe.(seepage2) 9.Alternateweldingpassesfromdriverstopassengerssidetokeeptheamountofheatateachareadown,and lowersthechanceofwarping.Besuretooccasionallychecktheurethanebushingsofthesemountsforanyexcess heatbuildup.Weldascompleteaspossible,andallowtheframetocoolcompletelybeforeremovingtheengineand transassembly.Afterremovingtheengine,removetheurethanesleevefromthemount.Onceremoved,complete anyweldingaroundcornersorunderthemounts. 10.ReinstallyourengineandtransandusetheprovidedNylocknutsonthe7/16"boltsforthisfinalfit. 11.Reconnectbatterygroundcable.Note:Spraypaintyourframetomatcheitherthestockpowdercoatorjust withsomeprimertoavoidrustbuildinguponthebaresteelthatisnowexposed.
