Role Title: Engagement and Achievement Coordinator Full Time Hours in line with Statutory requirements

Typically reports to Director of Learning Support

Purpose of the role (job statement) To assist the Governors and Headteacher in creating, establishing and delivering a vision for the school to ensure that every child succeeds. In addition, to coordinate the educational provision of the schools on site intervention centre and manage and deliver a range of targeted and personalised intervention programmes to ensure that identified students at risk if under achievement and disengagement fulfil their expected potential. Principal Responsibilities The person appointed, in addition to carrying out key duties particularly assigned by the Headteacher shall; 1. Assist in the implementation of the aims and objectives of the school. 2. Maintain and develop the distinct ethos and character of the school in accordance with the directions given by the Governors and subject thereto direction given by the Headteacher. 3. Agree, monitor and evaluate identified students progress to make a measurable contribution to school targets. 4. Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievement of assigned students. 5. Maintain good order and discipline amongst students in accordance with the schools procedures to encourage excellent learning habits, behaviour, standards of work/home learning and promote safety and wellbeing of students. 6. Plan and deliver personalised intervention programmes for groups of students, or 1 to 1, within the onsite school intervention centre. 7. Complete planning and delivery of educational provision within the schools onsite intervention centre for groups of students or 1 to 1 and deploy resources effectively. 8. Assist with the identification of students requiring targeted intervention. 9. Liaise with outside agencies and in-house staff as appropriate to deliver intervention programmes. 10. Coordinate and support the assessment of students prior to, during and after personalised intervention packages, monitor progress towards agreed outcomes and evaluate progress via agreed success criteria once intervention completed. 11. Complete reports on student progress towards agreed targets or as an exit strategy to monitor progress via lesson observations, student and staff questionnaire, analysis of data and other progress indicators as agreed with Director of Learning Support and communicate progress to parents/carers. 12. Liaise with Director of Learning Support regarding student progress and next steps following completion of intervention and support. 13. Carry out any other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as directed by the Headteacher The postholder is entitled to a break of reasonable length in the course of each school day. Additional Specific Responsibilities To assist the Director of Learning Support in the annual review of provision as outlined in the schools self-evaluation policy To support the identification and referral process of vulnerable students to a range of in-house and external agencies, including STAR meetings and Governors Welfare Panel and attend these meeting if required to do so. May hold relevant first degree/equivalent with PGCE and QTS or education degree/equivalent with QTS or other relevant qualifications suitable with the post Will have evidence of skills in engaging, motivating and inspiring young people and adults to learn Will have evidence of skills in learning, teaching, assessment methods Will have knowledge and experience Will have evidence of personal commitment to and impact of developing fellow professionals.
