Dover High Students Spread Holiday Cheer

Connecting community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school, and prepare for life.
We believe that every child needs and deserves the Five Basics: 1. A one-on-one relationship with a caring adult 2. A safe place to learn and grow 3. A health start and healthy future 4. A marketable skill to use upon graduation 5. A chance to give back to peers and community. CSI school-based programs are designed to provide students with at least one of these REAL basics.

Our first batch of student mentors at DHS donated their time to share presents with students at Fairview Elementary. The gifts, donated by Communities In Schools, brought smiles to many faces on December 16th. The Dover High students will each be assigned a mentee whom they will visit each week.

What is National Mentoring Month?

National Mentoring Month is an annual, high-profile campaign to draw attention to the need for more volunteer mentors. Mentors, who can fill various roles, help Americas young people achieve their full potential. National Mentoring Month is held each year in January and aim to raise awareness of mentoring in its various forms and recruit individual mentors. Thank Your Mentor Day will be celebrated on Thursday, January 22nd. On that day, recipients of mentors will reach out to thank or honor those individuals who encouraged and guided them, and had a lasting impact on their lives.

On-Track II
This fall, nine DHS students earned their second college credit by completing On-Track II at Delaware Tech. The purpose of this course is to
enhance student life skills, improve academic skills, and encourage student college awareness. Please congratulate the following students on their accomplishments.
