Two Countries, One Family, Together

Two different ways to describe this year from the mouths of our sons from two different countries. When asked to do a journal entry in his nal week of 1st grade Colten wrote, I hav gud news my mom and dad wnt to git Onah Marie. At the same time on the other side of the globe our three year old son began telling everyone, My daddy come. I go. Then he made a motion and sound of an airplane going into the sky. That is exactly what happened in our family in 2011. Colten got his wrestling partner. Onah and Marie got their family. Izzy got a big sister that loves and adores her. Our house is now full and our kids are nally under one roof. This Christmas is so exciting and we cant wait till tomorrow morning, but before it gets here, we want to say thank you, God, for the making the impossible...possible!

Colten is our storyteller and is growing up way too fast! He is now 6 years old and is such a great little boy. When he is not terrorizing his younger siblings he is busy beating up his dad, helping his mom, reading a book, or playing with his friends. This year he played baseball, participated in cub scouts, and started taking karate lessons at church. He loves to dance and is a very talented story writer and teller. Onah is our compassionate warrior! He is 3 years old and is the most loving and joyful kid I have ever known. No matter what happens throughout our days he is the first one asking for a kiss, giving a hug, or simply telling all of us, I wub you. Onah loves to play superheroes (Bibleman), wrestle, help around the house, or play sports. His first at bat in the backyard he hit the ball over the fence! Onah doesnt forget anything and makes sure we always follow the rules! Marie is our little sweet pea and is all girly girl. She is also 3 years old. She loves to snuggle with her daddy, play dolls with her sister, have her hair fixed by mommy, and get all dressed up in jewelry. She loves to be picked up and danced with. Marie is such an amazing little girl. Coming home for Marie also included several trips to specialist, but in the end it was another testimony to Gods greatness. When asked how to describe Marie we reply, Just wait and you will know.

Isabella is now one and is our tomboy comedian that looks just like her mommy. She loves to climb everything, be a little mom to her dolls, and boss others around. She also now has 4 teeth at 15 months old. She loves spaghetti, is perfecting glares, and has been to the ER twice in less than a month. I guess you can say she knows how to make sure #4 isnt forgotten. Terah is the most amazing person in our house by far and the most inspiring mother and wife. In one year she has accepted the challenges of being the mother of one toddler, 2 preschoolers, one first grader, and a really big kid who is also her husband. On top of that she also has picked up her guitar again to play for worship at church. In all of her free time she loves to make online photo albums and search pinterest. In two weeks Terah is getting the rest she has needed all year when she travels with me to Florida for a conference. As far as things go for me I am still the same. Love the outdoors, have enjoyed building new things, playing with my kids, and thinking of unique ways to tell kids about Jesus love (including using a houseboat.) I cant wait to see where 2012 takes our family and I would love to hear how God uses you to shine His light to others. Merry Christmas!!!
