About Sundarban : The Sundarbans is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. The name Sundarban can be literally translated as "beautiful jungle" or "beautiful forest" in the Bengali language. The name may have been derived from the Sundari trees that are found in Sundarbans in large numbers. The forest lies in the vast delta on the Bay of Bengal formed by the super confluence of the Padma, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers across Saiyan southern Bangladesh. The seasonally-flooded Sundarbans freshwater swamp forests lie inland from the mangrove forests on the coastal fringe. The forest covers 10,000 sq.km. of which about 6,000 are in Bangladesh. It became inscribed as a UNESCO world heritage suite in 1997. The Sundarbans is estimated to be about 4,110 km, of which about 1,700 km is occupied by water bodies in the forms of river, canals and creeks of width varying from a few meters to several kilometers. Area: Nearly 2400 sq. miles or 6000 sq. km. Forest Location: North-Bagerhat, Khulna and Sathkira districts. Main Attraction: Wildlife photography including photography of the famous Royal Bengal Tiger, wildlife viewing, boating inside the forest will call recordings, nature study, meeting fishermen, wood-cutters and honey-collectors, peace and tranquility in the wilderness, seeing the world's largest mangrove forest and the riverine beauty. Famous Spot:

Katka for deer, tiger, crocodiles, varieties of birds and monkey, morning and evening symphony of
wild fowls.

Hiron Point (Nilkamal) for tiger, deer, monkey, crocodiles, birds and natural beauty.
Vast expanse of grassy meadows running from Katka to Kachikhali (Tiger Point) provide opportunities for wild tracking.

Tin Kona Island for tiger and deer. Dublar Char (Island) for fishermen. It is a beautiful island where herds of spotted deer are often
seen to graze.

Place to see

Day-1: Depart from Dhaka at 4.00pm by bus. After Arriving Khulna at night, will be transferred to our boat/vessel. The boat/vessel will immediately start for cruising towards the Sundarbans at mid night. Day-2: Arrived at Kachikhali around 2.00pm. In the afternoon, beach walk and hiking in the kochikhali area to see the wild life and forest. Overnight stay at kacikhali in the boat. Day-3: Early in the morning, leave for Katka, Tiger point and Jamtala Beach. In Katka we shall offer a trip through small creeks and canals by country boat to see the wildlife and feel the forest from very close, jungle walk, beach walk, Sun-bathing (Swimming) etc. Overnight stay at katka in the boat. Day-4: Early in the morning, leave for Dublar Char. On the way to Khulan we wll see the Harbaria and Karamjal. In the evening we will return to khulna. And guests from Dhaka depart Khulna by 5.00 pm by bus.

You can make your visit more enjoyable and help in the conservation of Sundarbans by observing the following:-

Do's
Please inform your any comment or suggestion to the information desk located in ground floor the ship. Pease respect the other passenger; avoid such activities which may upset the other passenger. Avoid drinking tap water and prefer filtered water or coconut water. Do not carry mineral water unless it is part of your medication as Sundarbans is a "No Plastic zone". Carry some light snacks and fruits with you. Carry sunglasses, hats and sun tan lotion and plastic slipper/sandal. Carry some cash in case of some emergency. Carry common medicines for cough, cold, stomach upset etc. Carry spare batteries for your cameras as you might not get a chance to recharge your batteries. Travel in a group, you are not allowed to go anywhere singly. Put you wastage in west bin.

Don'ts
Do not carry any polythene bag as Sunderbans is a "No Plastic Zone". Dont pollute the pristine habitat by throwing anything out from the boat/Launch. Dont play any sound system including loud speakers or shouting as it disturbs wild life and covisitors thumb rule is that no one should go out of water craft. Do not enter in the Sunderbans singly. Staying within the Sunderbans reserve area is permitted only from Sunrise to Sunset. Hunting, fishing, damage to flora & habitat entry in core area and movement in non permitted forest locations is viewed as serious offence.
