Stage 1 Insultation

897 people signed the petition which was handed over to Falkirk Council at a full council meeting in December. It was ignored. The one hundred people that Council claim attended the drop-in days is a lie. At the same December meeting Falkirk Council said it was approximately one hundred people. The council find it difficult to admit to you that they had only 86 people drop-in to view their poor proposals for the town centre. This means their percentage figures are as follows:a) b) d) Wrong. Fabricated. Meaningless.

The ususal high level standard of incompetence on display fron the Council, where they cant even proof-read a newsletter for clerical or material accuracy. What faith does it give you ?

Stage 3 Insultation
: Planning application submitted. Regardless. : Outline & Detailed Planning application rushed through. Regardless. : Usual positive feedback to the Planning Committee submitted. Regardless. : You will have the usual opportunity to comment on the application and it will be ignored. Regardless. The one genuine opportunity you will have to make a difference for Denny regeneration, is at the next election. This Council have demonstrated time after time:They refuse to listen to you, the people. Denny will get what THEY decide to give it. There is no money - for Denny. And you wont get it for years!

Why would you use percentages anyway if you had 100 people turn up to your drop-in days? 84.8% and 15.2% means that 84 and a bit of a person want to see a new town centre as soon as possible. 15 and a bit of a person wants to see a better scheme. The Council are talking utter rubbish. This proves it!

Stage 2 Insultation
The Council maintain they intend submitting a planning application in March. How many of OUR ideas will they incorporate into the plan? : None : Less than none The next Insultation takes place on 31st January and 1st Frbruary between 2pm-7pm; Or is that 2pm-8pm? I dont know. Its what it says in the Newsletter.

Denny can fester, as long as Falkirk survives. Falkirk BID. Your Futures in Falkirk. etc... etc... Denny? Who cares?

You see how much they care. Make up your own mind.

DENNY DESERVES BETTER

No one questions these economically challenging times. Our political leaders told us we are all in this together. Unfortunately, some of us appear to be in it far more than others. Falkirk Matrix appears to be making solid progress. Thats good to hear. Falkirk Old Parish Church looks well after the 1.4million pounds plus refurbishment. Thats good to hear. Tamfourhill Hotel & Marina complex appears to be progressing well. Thats good to hear. Tesco Camelon will open very shortly. Thats good to hear.

Glad to hear we are all in this together?

Alleged consultation by Falkirk Council has taken over 10 years during which time Denny town centre has degenerated into the embarrassing, demoralising and dangerous condition you see today. Go along to the next Insultation being held by the Council and let them know how you feel.

And then vote this shower out!

Giant or Backward Steps?

Well theyre hardly revolutionary!
6 years into regeneration and what? Half a block demolished. Are you impressed? Falkirk Council continue in a blatant PR exercise allegedly to consult with the community, but it is nothing more than smoke & mirrors and treats DENNY residents with contempt. Attend the next drop-in days hosted by the council and ask them the question - Can we have another 3-4 shops? Or you could try - Will you make our library on 2 floors? Or maybe you could ask - Have you included public toilets in your plan? Care to guess the answers? Tell Falkirk Council that their attempts at consultation are no better than insultation and you reject them out of hand. The communities of Denny & Dunipace have been ignored yet again despite handing in a petition with 897 names! Disgraceful!
