Cambodian Harvest January 2012
Cambodian Harvest January 2012
jan 2012
month has been a whirlwind of activity. It started with the Shalom pastors training workshop, where Pastor Sopheak and I instructed several church leaders in the use of the Design for Discipleship books by the Navigators. I also taught two sessions on how to study the Bibleparticulary on the relationship between exegesis and exposition. It was really the first time that I have had the opportunity to pass on some of the teaching I received in seminary to pastors here. I cannot fully express the joy I experienced as I taught what has been entrusted to me to other faithful men and to see them encouraged and excited to learn more from Gods Word.
Translation is not easy work, and it can be very monotonous at times, but getting resources like the Design for Discipleship series into the hands of Christians here is so essential to our service to the Body of Christ in Cambodiato help them grow in Gods Word and not be tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine. We are also close to the release of a childrens book (similar to AWANA) entitled Learning About Jesus which should help fill a huge need for Christian childrens books in Cambodia.

all for your prayers! We continue to pray that God will use the seeds planted at the outreaches to bring many to saving faith in Jesus. that Ava and Paton are doing well. Both Christiana and I have been struggling with severe allergies, however, and as our fellow allergy-sufferers know, this can definitely impact everyday life. Please pray that we can pinpoint the allergens and find an effective solution. Also, several children in our neighborhood have contracted Dengue fever (mosquito-borne). Please pray for these families, as well as protection for own kids. for your continued prayers and support! May the Lord bless you in this new year!
