What do you understand by this word 'creativity'? Creativity is the act of creation: of forming something new out of existing materials. What role does creatvitiy play when you are planning a lesson for an observation? I try and plan at least one activity where the students craetivity is involved I don't feel that creativity has much of a role in my subject I'm reluctant to plan for creative activities becasue they are difficult to guide My subject requires creativity especially from students so it is essential I struggle to think of creative tasks Other

Without creativity, there would be no progress, and we would be forever repeating the same patterns." I think Edward De Bono is using 'creativity' as a synonym for 'scientific advancement'. You can have creativity without progress, and the same patterns are often repeated regardless of new advances. Very true but it is hard to continually inspire and be inspirational when there are the limitations of coursework deadlines!! Very easy to get into a rut of teaching the work to achieve the grades. Search the web for a quotation about creativity which means something to you and paste it into the box. You cant wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club.
