SACS parents and staff
take survey about
shortening winter vacation
Last November, South-
west Allen County
Schools (SACS) parents
and staff members were
asked to answer the
following question: Are
you in favor of shortening
winter break to less than
10 school days in order to
compress the school
calendar for the academic
year?
The results showed that
70 percent of staff
responded no and 30
percent of staff said yes.
The staff who voted
totaled 496 and included
district staff, elementary,
secondary and non classi-
fied staff.
But when parents were
asked the same question,
53 percent said that they
were not in favor of short-
ening winter break,
whereas 47 percent said
that they were in favor of
shortening winter break.
1149 parents, who had
children in elementary or
secondary school, voted,
with 613 responding no
and 536 responding yes.
Many other schools
across the country have
proposed shortening
winter breaks.
The Bentonville School
District in Alabama
decided to cut student
vacation days, leaving
students with a shorter
winter break and Thanks-
giving break.
The school board made
the decision in response to
wanting more days to
prepare for testing. The
school is scheduled to end
earlier next year, however.
But other local schools
havent changed their
schedules just yet.
Fort Wayne Community
Schools (FWCS) students
had 10 school days of
winter vacation on the
2011-2012 school
calendar. The proposed
calendar for the 2012-
2013 also has 10 school
days of winter break vaca-
tion allotted.
Northwest Allen County
Schools students had 9
school days of winter
vacation on the districts
2011-2012 school
calendar.
For more information
on the survey conducted
by SACS, visit the
districts website at
www.sacs.k12.in.us. For
details about the future
winter break schedules of
FWCS or NACS, visit
www.fwcs.k12.in.us or

respectively.

GM builds momentum in
truck market share
General Motors Co. is going into a
redesign year for the full-size pickups
made at its Fort Wayne Assembly Plant
on the heels of two successive years of
increased sales of the models.
Installation of the some of the tooling
that will be required to make the
redesigned truck got under way during the
week before Christmas, said Stephanie
Jentgen, plant communication manager
for GMs Fort Wayne Assembly Plant in
southwest Allen County and Marion
Metal Center.
Partly because retooling was taking
place in addition to normal equipment
maintenance and upgrades, a third week
was added to the traditional two-week,
year-end plant shutdown in observance of
winter holidays.
The retooling will continue after GM
employees return to work on Jan. 9 and
will remain under way over a number of
months, Jentgen said.
Everyone at the plant is very happy,
she said. The fact that we were chosen as
one of the plants to be making the next
generation of trucks tells us we put
together the best business case (for the
product), that we have been recognized
for building award-winning pickup trucks;
and its a testament to our future that
well be building pickup trucks through at
least the next big platform, which tends to
happen every six to 10 years. So its
really good.
The plant employs 270 salaried and
3,340 hourly workers making full-size
Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra
pickups. Hourly workers are represented
by United Auto Workers Local 2209.
The plant already is extremely short in
head count, and this next-generation
truck were building is going to bring
hundreds of new jobs into this plant,
shop chairman Rich LeTourneau said.
There are more parts associated with the
truck and more hours per vehicle,
compared with the old model.

SWAC swimmers Emily

give back to the entire
Fort Wayne community.
Wilson and Bardon
encouraged swimmers to

Dec. 5 and 12. By the end
of the weeklong drive,
they had collected 111

Neely Gladd and Karen
Salser both speak passion-
ately about health. As
family nurse practitioners
at GladdMD, nutrition,
exercise and personal
growth are three things
they focus on with
patients.
Their unique approach
to medicine also helps
treat patients therapeuti-
cally.
We dont just treat an
illness with tests and
medicine and prescrip-
tions. We really try and
look at the whole person
and get to the root of the
issue, instead of just
treating the symptoms,
Gladd said.
Initial visits with the
nurse practitioners are
usually about an hour
long, which gives Salser
and Gladd time to learn
who the patient really is.
A number of factors are
discussed-including stress
levels, eating patterns,
exercise and prior
illnesses.
Many people have
been through numerous
tests and havent gotten
anywhere, Gladd said,
adding that sometimes, a
patient just needs
someone to listen and try
and figure out the root of
the issue.
A graduate of Ball State
with a Masters of Nursing
Science, Gladd worked for
years in family practice,
but soon found herself
joining her husband, Dr.
Jeffrey Gladd, in integra-
tive medicine.
She is also trained in a
stress management system
called HeartMath, which
is a biofeedback technique
that gives patients tools to
control how their body
reacts to stressors.
We all really live what
we practice, she said.
We all eat the way we
teach others to eat, we try
to manage stress and
were all human, too.
Were not up on this
pedestal; were working
alongside the patients,
sharing our pitfalls and
challenges.
Integrative Medicine
focuses on different
avenues, such as stress
management, mental
health and diet to achieve
wellness in patients.
GladdMD isnt a tradi-
tional, family care
practice, but the integra-
tive medicine practice
works alongside patients
primary doctors.

from Indiana Wesleyan
with a Master of Science
degree has found that her

Local resident Lanah
Hake had the inspiration
to start Ft Wayne Outdoor
Yoga this summer, after a
trip.
I truly love teaching
yoga, she said. I love
our local parks and after a
trip in Baja, Mexico,
where I did lots of yoga
on the beach, I thought
why not offer Fort Wayne
outdoor yoga?
She taught weekly
Tuesday classes at
Freimann Square during
the lunch hour on Tues-
days and also on
Wednesday evenings at
Lakeside Park during the
summer.
Hake said the environ-
ment of the outdoors
helped set the space for
practice.
It is a great way to get
fresh air, connect with the
earth and nature and come
back into balance, all
while getting people to
enjoy [the] beauty of our
city, parks and build
community, she said.
But for the winter
season, Hake has been
teaching in the Botanical
Gardens at the Foellinger-
Freimann Botanical
Conservatory.
It was a surprise to me
when the outdoor group
asked if wed move it
indoors, but I was happy
to explore the idea, she
said. Three people in one
week suggested [the]
Botanical Gardens, so I
figured I should call them.
Amazingly, they were
very excited about the
idea.
Shortly after a press
release was sent out, she
and Mitch Sheppard,
Manager of the Conserva-
tory, were invited on
NIPR for a half hour
segment.
Yoga in the Garden, is
offered Wednesdays from
5:30-6:30 p.m., for
students of all levels. The
classes are $5 for
members of the Conserva-
tory and $7 for
non-members.
Preregistration is not
required, but students
should arrive 10 minutes
before class time. It is
suggested to bring your
own blanket or mat,
although a few are avail-
able
if that is not possible.
All participants will be
asked to sign a waiver at
each class, confirming
suitable health for prac-
tice. The classes are
designed for people
15 and up and are not
intended for women who
are pregnant.
Certified as a 200 hour
RYT (Registered Yoga
Teacher) through
Pranayoga School of
Health and Yoga in the
city, Hake said that yoga
is for everyone.
I believe yoga meets
you where you are, and is
for everybody, she said.
For people who may be
new to yoga or are inter-

Throughout the year, Bippus State Bank
employees are given the option to wear
jeans to work each Friday for a $2 dona-
tion. This money is then used throughout
the year to give back to those who are less
fortunate. BSB contributed $700 to LOVE
INCs Back-to-School Fair in August,
purchasing jeans and other clothing items.
During the Christmas Season, BSB adopts
families through LOVE INC with this
money. This year, Bippus State Bank was
able to give $645 to adopt and purchase
meals for 6 families, and purchase and
wrap gifts for the 17 children in these
families. BSB employees volunteer their
time to shop for and wrap these gifts. An
additional $300 was used to purchase
gifts for The Salvation Armys Angel Tree
and Teen Stuff-A-Stocking programs, and
BSB offices hosted collection boxes for
both the teen program and their canned
goods drive. Bippus State Bank also
donated $1000 to LOVE INCs food
pantry.

Holistic, alternative medicine
counseling service to open in Feb.
New business set to
open next month
It is New Years
resolution time and topping
most lists are health related
goals and resolves. In
Roanoke, there are several
businesses that can help
improve wellbeing and
healthy futures in 2012.
Opening on Feb. 1 is
Jeanette Greenes Every
Body, a holistic and alter-
native medicine counseling
service located on U.S. 24
W just opposite Nicks
Junction.
Specializing in iridology,
detoxification and nutri-
tional programs, Greene
works with clients to help
encourage healthy
lifestyles and suggests
personal changes to
achieve them, which could
include food, drink, exer-
cise and herbal remedies.
Certified in 1984 for
iridology, Greene was
inspired to pursue the
science when health issues
led her to having her irises
read, leading to improved
health.
Reading the eyes by
viewing the iris and its
characteristics and by
matching different zones of
the iris to different parts of
the body the trained iridol-
ogist can determine
potential health issues in a
person.
The eye is the only
organ directly off of the
brain, explains Greene,
the others are from the
spine. This allows the
most accurate form of
diagnosis known to man.
The iris is the most
complicated tissue struc-
ture in the body.
In addition to consulta-
tions, Greene offers herbs,
vitamins, minerals and
essential oils for sale.
Currently located in
Huntington, she looks
forward to her move to
Roanoke where her 100
year old building was orig-
inally a creamery with vats
and conveyer systems for
cream and butter.
Busy with renovations,
the space is taking on new
and welcoming dimensions
for her holistic health busi-
ness.
The brick building is
located at 354 Coe Street.
For more information
about Greene and Every
Body, please consult the
companys website at
www.everybody
holistic.com.
Hours are Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday and
Fridays 9am to 5pm.
Saturdays by appointment.

Vintage atmosphere and quality of baked goods set Waynedale Bakery apart
Waynedale Bakery first opened in 1955. 46 years later,
Hal Klinger and his daughter, Christine Miller, became
the fourth owners, after purchasing the bakery a little
more than a decade ago in February 2001.
The bakery sells breads, pies, cookies, doughnuts,
cakes and many other items. Miller has been decorating
cakes since she was young. I took a class in high school
to learn how to decorate cakes and kept going, she said.
Ive worked at several bakeries around town. She also
used to teach for Wilton, the national cake decorating
class company. With wedding cakes, sometimes
customers bring her pictures of what they want and other
times, she presents an idea and runs with it.
More specifically, the bakery makes iced sugar cookies,
gingerbread men, anise flavored cookies, Mexican
wedding rings, stollen bread, butter cookies, Swiss rolls
and Challah bread. The bakery caters to several religious
holiday customs.
For Februarys Fat Tuesday celebration, the bakery will
offer Boston crme pies and jelly Bismarck doughnuts.

The traditional ones are made with
prunes, Klinger said, adding that the
bakery makes them in other flavors such
as blueberry, apple cream and cherry.
Waynedale Bakery also makes hot cross
buns and King cakes.
The bakery also has a diverse selection
of doughnuts.
We have the usual doughnuts: the
apple fritters, the Bismarcks, Bavarian-
filled, cinnamon rolls, cake doughnuts of
all sorts and applesauce, sour cream
doughnuts, chocolate,vanilla and cherry
doughnuts, Klinger said.
Inside, the bakery still maintains a
vintage look, giving customers a flash
back to what it might have been like
around the time it opened.
People will come back and say this
was the way it was, Klinger said.
Weve had people taking pictures from
the street. The layout is the same. We
want it to be homey. We have faithful
customers and thats important to us.
People come to us because we give
them value and we give them quality for
their money, he said, adding that
customers wont find a better cake than
this lady [his daughter] makes, in town.
Waynedale Bakery also has many
corporate clients, including Dupont and
Lutheran Hospital. They also do catering
for high schools and special events, in
addition to cakes and cookies for
weddings, bridal and baby showers. Find

another aspect of the prac-
tice both like to focus on.
Salser said the physical
and emotional stressors
that people have today
have impacted nutrients
and absorption.
She said that looking at
the whole body is impor-
tant for helping a patient.
We look at your body
like a house, she said. If
your house went through
this big earthquake, we
want to fix the foundation.
We might use supple-
ments so your house
doesnt fall apart. We look
at whats causing the
problem, Salser said.
Visits to GladdMD also
include the advice from a
integrative dietician,
Meghann Whetstone, who
gives patients resources
for where to get food in
the local community.
Whetstone also suggests
recipes, blogs and cook-
books for special food
considerations.
Salser said parasites,
bacterial overgrowth and
food intolerances can
cause major problems,
including neurological
conditions.
She has seen cases
where neurological condi-
tions have been caused by
a parasite in the body.
At the end of the day,
Gladd and Salser said
they want patients to feel
comfortable coming to see
them.
We give them the tools
they need to improve their
health, she said.
We want them to
embrace what works for
them. Were not judg-
mental and they dont
have to feel guilty when
they come in and havent
met their goals. Their
lifestyle might be different
from what ours is.
Embracing the patient is
the main purpose of inte-
grative medicine and it is
one that has led to word-
of-mouth marketing
success for GladdMD.
Because people truly
see a change and a differ-
ence, people just come to
us, Gladd said. People
feel better and they want
their friends and family to
feel better too.

Official: Fed mandate
shortchanging water upgrades
An official in Indianas second-
largest city says a federally-required
upgrade to Fort Waynes drinking
water disinfection system will force
the city to slash its efforts to replace
aging water pipes. A city board
approved a $177 million utility
budget for 2012 that includes $19.2
million to convert the treatment plant
from chemical to ultraviolet light
disinfectant. That project is required
by a federal water quality mandate.
But deputy director of engineering
Matthew Wirtz says the 2012 budget
means the city will only be able to
replace about 2 1/2 miles of water
delivery pipes. Thats far below the
citys goal of replacing 12 miles of
pipe each year. Wirtz says the city has
been experiencing more water main
breaks because of aging pipes.

Do you suffer with
Very little information has been
released on the next-generation pickup.
That scarcity of news extends to any offi-
cial word on when it will be out, although
some dealers have been told to expect it
in the spring of 2013.
All Ive heard is its really nice and
more of an evolution than revolution,
Jentgen said.
In a previous announcement on GMs
decision to invest $275 million in the
plant and create or retain 150 jobs, Larry
Zahner, GM manufacturing manager, said
the redesign would enable the Detroit-
based company to continue building
award-winning pickups that offer better
fuel efficiency than ever before without
sacrificing features and functionality.
A bump up in demand that often
follows a product redesign is not needed
to reverse any recent sales or market
share trend with the Silverado or Sierra.
Sierra sales for the first 11 months of
2011 were 132,675 units, which was up
from 129,794 for all of 2010 and 111,842
for all of 2009.
Silverado sales rose in 2010 to 370,175
units from 316,544 the year before.
Silverado sales during the first 11 months
of 2011 were 367,343, for a monthly
average of 33,395. Unless they really
dropped off a cliff in December, the 2011
total will exceed 2010s.
Todays trucks are doing very well and
have gained market share inside of the
full-size pickup segment in 2011, and
thats against some very stiff competi-
tion, said Jim Cain, a spokesman for GM
sales.
Through November this year, the Sierra
had 9.9 percent of the market, which was
up from 9.3 percent for the same period
last year. The Silverado had 27.3 percent
of the market through November, up from
27 percent for the comparable 2010
period.
Its a great truck and we also have
been working very hard to develop
stronger relationships with commercial
customers and tradespeople and business
people who use trucks for work
building on our historic strength with the
everyday truck customer who uses it for
farming, construction and recreation,
Cain said.
Silverados and Sierras are doing even
better with market share in Fort Wayne
than they are nationally, according to
Chuck Kelley, general manager for Kelley
Chevrolet on Illinois Road.
With full-size pickups, nationally,
Ford outsells Chevy a little, but in this
market we kill them, Kelley said.
Based on the most recent new vehicle
license plate registration data, at the end
of September Chevrolet had 41 percent of
the local full-size pickup market followed
by: Ford with 28.3 percent; GMC with 13
percent; Dodge with 11.5 percent; and
Toyota with 3.2 percent.
The preferred pricing and employee
vehicle allowance GM workers get on the
companys products sure doesnt hurt
any, does it? But Chevy has always
been the market leader in full-size trucks
in this area and in this state, Kelley said.
Chevys local market share is up from
40.8 percent and GMCs is up from 12.6
percent, partly because of ongoing sales
and marketing efforts, Kelley said.
Theyre a great truck with some great
offers on them right now. Its all about
what do you get for what you spend,
Kelley said.
Truck enthusiasts will get a look at the
redesigned Silverado and Sierra at auto
shows next fall or early next winter, and
I think they will bring more passion to
people looking to replace their pickups
again, Kelley said.
It will move the needle one more time
upward.

Winter weather is coming, save time and money
by protecting your home today.
WATER EXPANDS WHEN I T FREEZES.
Your pipes do not.
Theres nothing worse than a burst
pipe in the dead of winter. With
temperatures falling and winter
on the horizon, now is the time to
protect your pipes. Fortunately,
Aqua Indiana has some simple tips
that you can do to lessen the impact
of freezing temperatures and protect
your home.
Remember, plumbing located against
exterior walls in unheated basements
and crawl spaces is particularly
vulnerable to the cold and at highest
risk of freezing and breaking.
Eliminate Drafts. Close crawl spaces,
vents and doors. Repair broken or
cracked basement windows. Make
sure basement doors and windows
close tightly.
Insulate Pipes. Be sure pipes in
unheated parts of your property,
including crawl spaces, are protected
by properly installing heat tape or pipe
insulation found at most hardware and
plumbing supply stores.
Remove Outdoor Hoses. Exterior
faucets and hoses are frst to freeze.
Remove for the season between
October 15 and November 1.
And when its really cold, 10 degrees
or less, or you arent home, leave a thin
stream of water running from at least
one tap farthest from the water meter;
open cabinet doors below sinks to allow
warm home air to better circulate (always
remove cleaners and chemicals to keep
out of reach of small children).
If your pipes freeze and you can locate
the frozen section, use a handheld hair
dryer to thaw the area. Hold the dryer
about six inches from the pipe and move
the dryer slowly back and forth. If this
method fails after a reasonable period of
time, call your plumber immediately.

Finding foundation
Many people suffer from diagnoses like irritable bowel
syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, or fibromyalgia.
While it is helpful to have an answer to the debilitating
symptoms, labeling you with a syndrome hardly helps to
get your health back on track. Rather, these labels largely
provide two things, neither of which help you feel better:
a code for insurance
company submissions and a
list of pharmaceutical
options. I am in no way
saying your symptoms are
in your head, quite to the
contrary. These symptoms
are very real and very
disabling. But they are
exactly that: symptoms. We
need a framework for
working backward, rather
than merely treating symp-
toms. It is time to scratch
the surface and understand
the root of how you got
here.
To do this, compare your
body to a house. Symptoms like fatigue or digestive prob-
lems are external manifestations like the roof needing
replaced or maybe the siding is falling off. Those are
cosmetic issues that you know can be replaced. Where
your focus should really be is the foundation. If the foun-
dation is cracked, you are going to have a tough time for
the future years in your home.
Maybe youre suffering from chronic fatigue (roof),
and cannot sleep soundly (siding). While we want to
spend some time focusing on your symptoms, what we
really ought to be doing is looking at the foundation
issues that are driving these downstream problems.
Your health foundation is built on three overlapping
areas:
- Nutrition: Your body needs a variety of foods that
come directly or very nearly directly from nature.
Consuming a diet that is mainly fresh or frozen vegeta-
bles and fruits, nuts, beans, eggs and wild
caught/grass-fed/free-range protein is essential. The more
we rely on the convenience of heavily processed and
pulverized food-like products and restaurant produced
fare loaded with salt and lab-created fats, the more our
foundation weakens.
- Emotional Peace: Stress comes from all directions:
relationships, finances, diet, the environment. Regardless
of its source, the body responds the same way. Over
weeks upon months upon years, the body under stress
begins to break down. A daily practice for stress manage-
ment (since avoidance is often impossible) is crucial.
Praying, breathing, laughing, loving, forgiving, and exer-
cising are only a few tools for your toolbox.
- The Gut: The digestive system is the center of health,
housing the majority of your bodys immune system. As
your gut goes, so you go. A healthy digestive system
requires whole foods, regular stress management and
avoiding antibiotics unless absolutely needed.
So imagine your body as a house. Is your foundation
solid enough for the years you will need it? If your roof
is leaking and your door is falling off its hinges, dont
just focus on quick fixes. Look deeper, look for the
reasons why. Its likely that it has everything to do with
the choices youre making, or not making every day.

Contribute more to your
retirement accounts. The new
year means that you are one
year closer to retirement. To
help yourself build resources
for the lifestyle youve
envisioned as a retiree, try to
boost your contributions to
your 401(k) or other
employer-sponsored retirement
plan. You can do this if you get
a salary increase and devote at
least part of it to your 401(k).
At the same time, try to max
out on your Individual
Retirement Account (IRA). For
2012, you can contribute up to
$5,000 to an IRA, or $6,000 if
youre 50 or older.
Reduce your debts. Look for
ways to cut down or consoli-
date your debts. It may not be
easy, but its worth the effort
because the lower your debt
load, the more money youll
have available to invest for the
future.
Build an emergency fund. If
you dont already have an
emergency fund containing
between six and 12 months
worth of living expenses, start
building one soon. Keep the
money in a liquid vehicle
one thats separate from your
everyday checking and savings
accounts. Without such an
emergency fund, you may be
forced to dip into your long-
term investments to pay for
unexpected costs, such as a
major car repair, a new furnace
or a large medical bill.
Dont overreact to volatility.
In 2011, the financial markets
have been volatile, with big
gains followed by big drops
followed by big gains a true
roller-coaster pattern. Try not to
let large, short-term price
movements influence your
investment decisions. Many of
the factors that cause jumps or
declines are not that relevant to
long-term results and as an
investor, you want to focus on
the long term. Concentrate on
building a portfolio thats
suitable for your individual
goals and risk tolerance.
Be aware of different types of
risk. For many investors,
investment risk strictly means
the possibility of losing princi-
pal when the value of an
investment drops. Conse-
quently, to cut back on their
risk in the face of a volatile
market, they may sell off stocks
and load up on certificates of
deposit (CDs), bonds and other
so-called safer investments.
But each investment actually
carries its own type of risk. For
example, if you own CDs that
pay a 2 percent return, and the
inflation rate is 3 percent, you
will lose purchasing power over
time. And if you wanted to sell
your bonds before they had
matured, youd have to sell
them at a discount if the
market interest rate had risen
above the coupon rate of your
bond because no one would
pay you full price for them. Just
be aware that no investment is
risk-free, and try to build a
diversified portfolio that can
lessen the impact of one
specific type of risk.
By following these sugges-
tions, you can go a long way
toward making 2012 a good
year in which to make progress
toward your important finan-
cial goals. So plan ahead
and make the right moves.

Staff Reports
This is a guest column
by Bill Etzler, who has
been Vice
President/Regional
Manager of Aqua Indiana
since July 1999. A Fort
Wayne native, Bill now
lives in rural Noble
County. He is a board
member for the Little
River Wetlands Project.
What does an eggshell
have in common with
ground water in Aboite
Township? Calcium
carbonate. Its the
primary ingredient in
eggshells, and its what
makes hard water leave
spots on your shower
door.
To avoid dragging up
bad memories of a high
school chemistry quiz, Ill
spare you the details of
how ionization causes
CaCO3 deposits in your
water and focus instead on
how Aqua Indiana gets it
out.
The human body isnt
harmed by hard water; its
an aesthetic annoyance.
Hard water results in soap
scum, bad tasting coffee
and scale build-up on the
inside of boilers and water
pipes. Last year, Aqua
Indiana completed the
work necessary to soften
the ground water we
process and send to your
home.
Aqua installed special
filters at our three
processing plants to
remove the calcium and
magnesium dissolved
from bedrock and
suspended in ground
water.
This improvement cost
about $3.5 million dollars,
but delivers both an
immediate and long-term
customer benefit.
Aquas tap water now
routinely tests at 120-130
parts per million for
dissolved minerals, a very
typical level of hardness
in softened municipal
water systems in Indiana.
Aqua Indiana customers
may find they no longer
need to install a water
softener. Those with water
softeners report theyre
not lugging heavy bags of
salt to the basement or
garage nearly so often.
Since a typical bag of
salt costs $6.00, we esti-
mate customers can save
up to $12/month or $144
per year.
Laundry detergent, bath
soap and other cleaning
products are far more
effective in soft water.
Softened water also limits
the accumulation of
minerals (scale) on the
inside of your household
plumbing, making it last
longer and reducing main-
tenance. Older homes
with years of calcium
carbonate accumulation in
their pipes may still have
slightly higher hardness
levels.
While our areas ground
water is hardened from
contact with rocks and
sediment, it has a clear
advantage over using
surface water as a
drinking source here in
the corn belt; no
AtraZine. The herbicide
was banned in Europe in
2004, but remains widely
used in the USA and else-
where around the world.
The good news is that
same bedrock and soil
which contribute to hard
water in our area filters
out this and other surface
pollutants long before it
reaches the 300-foot deep
wells which are the source
of Aqua Indianas water
supply.
The next time you make
scrambled eggs, study that
eggshell before you send
it down the garbage
disposal.
Thats the one pipe
where calcium carbonate
belongs.

New year means new look for
home furnishings
Start the new year off with a fresh new
look for your home, by making simple
changes that can give your home an
updated look without breaking the bank.
Here are a few ideas:
-FLORAL arrangements, whether real
or silk, bring the outdoors in while
adding a touch of life to any room in
your home.
-A new PAINT color is one of the
simplest ways to give your home a new
look.
-ACCESSORIES placed over your
cabinets help fill the empty space and
give your kitchen a finished look.
-Changing your CABINET
HARDWARE will give your kitchen a
fresh new look without having to replace
cabinets.
-Adding a BACKSPLASH in your
kitchen adds character and makes for
easier clean up.
-RUGS, PILLOWS, & THROWS are
a simple way to change up your color
scheme and decorate for the holidays.
-ART is great to pull inspiration from
combining your style and colors together.
Changing the look of your home
doesnt always mean that you need to re-
model, as these simple changes can help
give your home a fresh new look.
Look for quality pieces that fit in
perfectly with your style. Less is more
when you invest in the right accents.
If you are thinking about re-modeling,
keep in mind that updating your bath-
rooms and kitchens are great rooms to
invest in.
Updated bathrooms and kitchen are a
big advantage when buyers are looking
for a home.
