GENERAL QUESTIONS
1. Editorial Board meetings are on Fridays at 3 p.m. They are a mandatory part of being an opinion columnist and illustrator. Will you be able to attend these meetings? If not, please indicate the reason. 2. Ed Board often debates controversial issues. How do you deal with those whom you strongly disagree with? 3. This semester, were looking to create a variety among the Opinion staff. What theme or motif will tie your (bi)weekly column together? Can you give us a specific idea for a column topic? Who is your demographic? 4. Briefly describe your political philosophy (were only asking to determine the range of political diversity on the staff this semester -- no judgement). If your column is politically-inclined, are you interested in local, state, or national news? 5. Choose one story on the news you have followed recently. What interested you about the story and what opinions have you formed? 6. We have a weekly video column called Op-Edge. Do you have any experience in front of a camera? Any ideas for our multimedia? 7. Briefly describe yourself as one of the following: > popular song or music video > facial hairstyle > celebrity couple (existing or fictional) > #hashtag > animal hybrid > hate mail (to yourself)
