Join Leading Mobile Operators. Use Their Tool.

With PegaPlan you can ideally engineer the air interface of 2G, 2.5G and 3G cellular networks. This great planning and optimizing tool supports the whole life cycle, from initial design, deployment, densification and steady improvement of your mobile network. In doing so, you profit from the know-how and best practice planning processes of many of the leading mobile operators worldwide. An international change request board of reputable users drafts the requirements for PegaPlan. That way, it is ensured that the experience and knowledge as well as best practice of world leading mobile operators are continually integrated into the system and become standard. For example, the harmonization of deployment processes and the One Company

approach of the T-Mobile Group has been realized with the help of experts and the planning product of their choice, PegaPlan.

Very Practical and Well Thought Out.

In many different countries and under various conditions, PegaPlan has shown its qualities. Just take coverage and interference calculations as a case in point: Here, PegaPlan automatically chooses the most suitable, variable resolution and combination of propagation models. Lets say you want to predict how your network will operate in a dense urban business center. PegaPlan will help you by allowing you to use a high resolution with a sophisticated propagation model.

Should you plan 3G networks with Monte Carlo simulation techniques, PegaPlan has more practical features for you: Like most other planning tools it comes with a Monte Carlo simulator. Unlike most similar solutions, PegaPlan also offers you a fast analytical model with a runtime proportional to the number of base stations and independent of the number of active cell phones and the amount of traffic. In short, PegaPlan supports the planning and optimization of your network with some tens of thousands of cells. On top of that, you may benefit from PegaPlans fast estimation mode. With this, you can evaluate the coverage and capacity of a mobile network very quickly.

vendors. It also makes spatial comparisons with prediction data and statistical analysis possible.

Simulation and Analysis.

We do not know of a more versatile tool available in this category. Or have you seen one that enables you to carry out the following functions?

GIS Features.
PegaPlan delivers variable and freely definable resolution for all relevant spatial data down to a few meters. Geodata typically used comprise land usage, elevation, maps, roads, railway lines, social, economical and geographical statistics. PegaPlan also supports many important coordinate systems such as WGS-84, Krassowskij, ED-50, Airy and others. An interface to serveral MapInfo and ESRI file formats rounds off this category.

coverage, interference and handover planning of GSM, GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA true multi-layer planning for dual band networks joint planning of 2G and 3G networks analysis of 3G pilot and service areas calculation of load and blocking taking user configurable Radio Resource Management into account

Propagation Modeling.
PegaPlan comes complete with a propagation model library that includes all relevant and published macro and micro cell models. This includes a 3-D micro cell model and the recommended macro cell model that has been exclusively developed for PegaPlan. All models can be tuned in each country for our customers based on measurements. As an additional asset, PegaPlan automatically chooses the best suited combinations of models for coverage and interference analysis.

Up to Date.
PegaPlan keeps pace with the rapid development in the mobile communications industry. As so it is not only providing support for established technologies like GSM, GPRS/EDGE, and WCDMA, but already extends its range into HSDPA, WiMAX, and Flarions Flash-OFDM. It also covers current PMR technologies like TETRA. Support for UMTS TDD mode, HSUPA, and TD-SCDMA is already on the roadmap.

statistical analysis and reporting of key performance indicators indoor and outdoor coverage analysis

PegaPlan lets you calculate all items with very fast analytical models. Additionally, PegaPlan offers a Monte Carlo simulation engine for UMTS.

Neighborhood Planning.
PegaPlan features automatic neighborhood planning for 2G, 2.5G and 3G network topologies. The neighborhood editor included in the package lets you manually tune handover planning. In addition you can edit the handover relations in the graphical display as well.

Packed with Features for Your Success.

PegaPlan comes with a host of features, the most important ones are described below. There

Frequency and Code Planning plus Coordination.

A patented algorithm is your key to perform BCCH, TCH and HTCH channel and scrambling code assignments automatically. Synthesized and Baseband Hopping is supported. Frequency demand analysis works with a clique analysis and shows you the set of mutually interfering cells needing most frequencies or codes in the network. That way, planners get valuable hints for optimization. Advanced algorithms are also used for automatically assigning all kind of codes to the cells: HSN, MAIO, NCC, BCC, TSC and RACC. International issues are covered: PegaPlan evaluates if cells near national borders are subject to cross-country frequency or code coordination according to the Vienna agreement (HCM model implemented). As mentioned, PegaPlan comes fully equipped with many other functions such as statistic calculations and evaluations of key performance indicators (KPIs), it offers you report generation and result plotting with comfortable layout editors.

Hardware Requirements.

Sun Workstation or PC (Linux), MS Windows from Spring 2007 19 monitor or larger screen Main memory at least 512 MB HDD of minimum 20 GB CD-ROM / DVD Writer for software updates and backup Printer for ASCII outputs Color printer or plotter for hardcopies of planning results

Alternatively, a client-server architecture with PCs and workstation(s) file server can be integrated into an existing office communication network.
