Ther. Class.: Bronchodilators Pharm. Class.: Adrenergics Pregnancy category C

Binds to beta2adrenergic receptors in airway smooth, muscles leading to activation of adenyl-cyclase and increased levels of cyclic-3 adenosine monophosphate

-Used as a bronchodilato r in the management if reversible airway obstruction caused by asthma or COPD

hypersensitivity to adrenergic amines -Hypersensitivity to fluorocarbons (inhaler). Use cautiously in: Cardiac disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, Diabetes, Glaucoma, Geriatric patients.

CNS: nervousness, restlessness, tremor, headache, insomia. CV: Chest pain, palpitations, angina, arrhytmias, hypertension. GI: nausea, vomiting. Endo: hyperglycemia. F and E: hypokalemia Neuro: tremor
