Newspaper Advertising Rates: 2009-2010

The PapillionLa Vista South High School newspaper, The Torch, is published five times a school year and reaches a school population of around 1,500 people. The paper is 11.63 x 21.5 in size and incorporates a six-column-wide design. Our column widths are as follows: 1 column = 1.81 2 columns = 3.75 4 columns = 7.69 5 columns = 9.63 3 columns = 5.75 6 columns = 11.63

Ad Rates (One-Time Run): *Any ad run one time: $5.50 / column inch *Full page ad: $475.00 / one-time rate *Preprinted inserts: $75.00 (please supply up to 1,500 copies) Before printing your inserts, please provide us with a mock-up for
approval. We cannot guarantee we will run your insert if it is not pre-approved. Inserts must be no more than 8.5 wide by 11 tall.

Popular Sizes & One-Time Run Costs *Business Card Size=2 columns wide by 2 inches tall, which is 4 column inches ($22) *Quarter Page (vertical)=3 columns wide by 10 inches tall, which is 30 column inches ($165) *Half Page (horizontal)=6 columns wide by 10 inches tall, which is 60 column inches ($330) Contract Ad Rates: These rates apply when a business agrees to place advertisements in two or more issues of the newspaper over the course of the school year. The issues in which the advertisements are to be placed may be chosen by the business, but they must be decided upon before the contract rate will apply. 1. 2-30 inches per year: 2. 31-60 inches per year: 3. 61-90 inches per year: 4. Print Dates/Advertising Deadlines: All print dates are subject to change. Print ads (traditional ads that are printed directly in the paper) must be received by 3:30 p.m. the day of the deadline. Inserts must be received, with payment, by 8 a.m. the day of the deadline. *All ads printed directly into the newspaper (non-inserts) are printed in black and white. *If you have a pre-designed ad, e-mail submission of that ad is preferable. We accept jpg, tif, and pdf formats with a resolution of at least 170 dpi.
