New camera body - suppressing neutron and gamma rays 2 independent cooling systems with heat pipes - Front part with camera module and CCD-sensor - Rear part with control logic

The many innovations include - A new patented camera body - An effective cooling system - Heavy reinforced electronics - Self supervised camera Why is a cooling system essential? - Low thermal noise due to cooled CCD gives much better picture quality - Prolonged lifetime of camera module and control electronics - Low contamination of camera module and control logic
The cooling system is designed to withstand high temperature for many years and, thanks to external coolers, there is no internal air circulation.

Monitor with precision reduce insecurity! Now its possible to inspect a faulty component in detail. Thanks to colour imaging with extra crystal-clear definition, light-sensitive optics and effective zoom, this is no longer a problem.

This position of a total of 19 in containment at Forsmark 3 is the most damaging position, due to temperature and intense level of radioactivity.

Superior radiation resistance few hot spots

Small white dots (hot spots) represent pixels permanently damaged due to radiation. Picture taken by the same camera at the same age. Iris closed, maximum gain 26 dB.
How does radiation affect a standard camera? Picture taken after 9 months. Small dots represent permanently damaged pixels. Iris closed, maximum gain 26 dB.

How is the camera used?

Prevention - Monitoring - Confirmation - Testing - Training
Examples of what our clients use ICM for during process: - Searching for smoke and open fire - Searching for sources of steam leakage (where, size of leakage, and tracking incident) - Searching for sources oil leakage (and oil wettings) - Visual confirmation of executed order(s) e.g., closing/opening valves and other equipment - Viewing manometers ICM2009 installations in low-radiation areas have drastically reduced the need for physical inspection rounds.

High-quality imaging and reliability

In case of an incident, with the aid of good camera images and PTZ, you can take correct action e.g., - Reduce power instead of closing down the process - Documentation of the process minute-by-minute (as in ISECs AVISS system) - In case of failure of fire detector, production can continue with constant camera monitoring
(may vary from country to country)

Testing tube circuits, valves and pipelines

ICM together with audio monitoring (optional) aids regular testing of reactor tube circuits. Are valves, pipelines and other circuit equipment functioning correctly?

Training new personnel

Thanks to the functionality with PTZ, powerful zoom (optic x26) and light-sensitive optics, ICM is an excellent tool for presentation of every corner of the normally closed area, at any time. Often also used to update old knowledge.

Outage and refuelling

During refuelling, the manoeuvre is monitored. Water levels of pools are monitored.
Information - In Swedish NPPs there are 15-20 ICM cameras installed per reactor.

Audio gives even higher security Our audio customers say: With both image and sound presented at the same time, we make better decisions in critical situations. The human ear is a fantastic instrument for detecting abnormalities. Operators often activate the microphone to get audio confirmation when operating valves and other noisy units.
NB! Audio registration is optional and requires an extra 2-pair wire to the camera.

Intelligent camera - collecting statics ICM logs and stores all important camera activities on-site. All data are retrievable and will give important information from each installed camera position.

Our Services ISEC provides many unique services including yearly evaluation of installed systems. This service gives our clients optimal longterm availability and is unbeaten on the market. ISECs goal is to provide incomparable audiovisual value 4/7/365. Our systems deliver!

Few spare parts - High availability ICM is designed with a minimum of spare parts Camera module with CCD sensor and lens, Quick release Control electronics / logic, Quick release Cooling fans, 2pcs. Fixation with 4 screws. Halogen bulbs, 1x wide & 1x spot, x35W, Quick release.

Less contaminated waste - Environmentally friendly Innovative design means fewer spare part that can be contaminated, such as cooling fans and halogen bulbs. The camera body, with its smooth outer body, is easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

Service aspects are important the ideal camera?

Since 2004, the ICM camera has been developed in close collaboration with nuclear power plants. We have made the camera exceptionally service friendly. Change all modules using rubber gloves and only 2 tools. Quick change of camera module and control logic less than 5 minutes.

Service keyboard included

On the control logic there is a service keyboard for local testing of different functions. So, even without a connected control system, its possible to test any camera function.

Service connector and PC software

With RS-232 communication and a special Windows test program, its easy to do a full check.

Connect ICM to existing cable network 2-wire for operator panel with joystick Video signal to a colour monitor Manoeuvre the camera with a joystick and evaluate the picture quality on a colour monitor. Or, why not use a PC with mouse. We offer many alternatives!

Plug & Play for existing installations

The ICM 2009 is often integrated with existing video systems and, in most cases, you can use already installed cables, brackets and cable connectors. ISEC delivers a custom-adapted camera that gives the NPP an upgrade with minimum of change to existing hardware and documentation.
Several RS-485 protocols from 3rd-party suppliers of video systems are already supported for camera control. If your protocol is not on the list, ISEC has the know-how to do an integration. ICM can be installed camera-by-camera in existing video systems or to AVISS ISECs most advanced system for process control in NPP.
